Monomad: The beauty of the old in black and white[en/es]

Hello friends of Hive, today I want to share with you some photos that I took in black and white for the #monomad challenge. The theme I chose was the colonial buildings that are located in my municipality artemisa, a place full of history and culture.

Hola amigos de Hive, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes algunas fotos que tomé en blanco y negro para el reto #monomad. El tema que elegí fue el de las edificaciones coloniales que se encuentran en mi municipio artemisa, un lugar lleno de historia y cultura.

Artemisa is a city that was founded in the 18th century and that preserves many constructions from the colonial era, although some have been modified or restored. I like to walk through its streets and admire the architecture and the atmosphere of this town.

Artemisa es una ciudad que se fundó en el siglo XVIII y que conserva muchas construcciones de la época colonial, aunque algunas han sido modificadas o restauradas. Me gusta caminar por sus calles y admirar la arquitectura y el ambiente de este pueblo.

For this challenge, I used my cell phone and took photos of some emblematic buildings, such as the Campoamor Hotel, the old La Casa de Sierra Hotel, the old Palace of Marriages, the Evoluvion Lodge, the Banana Shake, among others. I found it interesting to capture the contrasts and details of these structures in black and white.

Para este reto, usé mi teléfono celular y tomé fotos de algunos edificios emblemáticos, como el Hotel Campoamor, el antiguo Hotel La Casa de Sierra, el antiguo Palacio de los Matrimonios, la Logia Evoluvion, el Batido de Platano, entre otros. Me pareció interesante captar los contrastes y los detalles de estas estructuras en blanco y negro.

I think that this type of photographs highlights the colonial charm of these buildings, the elegance of the shapes, the texture of the materials and the atmosphere of nostalgia that surrounds these buildings. I also think that black and white gives an artistic and dramatic touch to the images, that invites to reflection and imagination.

Creo que este tipo de fotografías resalta el encanto colonial de estas edificaciones, la elegancia de las formas, la textura de los materiales y la atmósfera de nostalgia que envuelve a estas edificaciones. También me parece que el blanco y negro le da un toque artístico y dramático a las imágenes, que invita a la reflexión y a la imaginación.

These colonial structures are part of the cultural heritage of my municipality and I feel proud to live in a place with so much history. I think that these photos in black and white add a lot of value to these buildings, as they show them from a different perspective and make them stand out among the urban landscape.

Estas estructuras coloniales son parte del patrimonio cultural de mi municipio y me siento orgulloso de vivir en un lugar con tanta historia. Creo que estas fotos en blanco y negro les aportan mucho valor a estas edificaciones, ya que las muestran desde una perspectiva diferente y las hacen resaltar entre el paisaje urbano.
