This post is my entry for the #monomad challenge.
Title: Papaver somniferum flowers and seed capsules
Papaver somniferum (Opium poppy) is a plant grown for food, the pharmaceutical industry, and the production of opium and heroin.
There are several large fields of opium poppies near where I live, and they are also often grown in gardens, as people like to eat poppy seed pastries and cakes.
It is a beautiful flowering plant that I like to photograph. All photos are from different fields and stages of development, from the beginning to the end of flowering.
Thank you for stopping by and supporting my content!
The field poppy heads looks so awesome!
My mum has few of the decorative ones in her garden too. Very photogenic plant :)
Thanks! I do think the same. Very photogenic plant indeed.
Beautiful photos dear
Thanks. 😁
Welcome 😁
What a moment to capture in that second image!
Like other flowers, the poppy attracts insects. It wasn't my intention. The bee jumped into the frame. 😁
