This is my entry for the #monomad challenge hosted and curated by @monochromes.
I started the new year off with a nice long hike through an old abandoned Quarry up on the bluffs of LaCrosse. Armed with my new Ricoh GR3x Camera I set off to see what I could capture.
The old roads of the quarry are a popular spot for locals to walk, even in the winter.
After a while you start to see what is left of the old structures that were once used. here is an old scale for weighing the trucks.
There used to be more buildings throughout the quarry, but here is one of the last "still standing".
I wish I knew the story of how it burnt down.
There are so many little details that I could have spent all day here.
They just don't make work benches like they used too.
I dont think we will be having microwave dinners anytime soon :-)
Interesting graffiti, who is The Worst?
Take a seat.
This one made me smile.
A couple positive messages to end my post on.
I hope you enjoyed my journey as I explored this old quarry. Thank you for reading my post.
For some reason the bent bracket photo is my favorite.

Yeah, I want to go back with my macro setup and get lots of detailed shots of everything. I could spend hours there capturing all the little details.
Very nice! Always a favorite haunt!
Great shots, the folding chairs against the wall works beautifully. Good eye.
Thank you, I knew when I seen them I had to get the shot.
Its great when you see things that other people would just walk by and not see the shot that you’ve spotted. Love that about photography
