This is an entry to the #Monomad contest, along with the story.
Monomad Technology Stack (process)
These shots were all taken whilst out riding a pushbike around the lake with an older iPhone XS. Later they get synced and edited in Google Photos. Nice and simple, original quality maintained.. Next step is to download the selection for posting, and open these in a very useful free software called IrfanView for Windows 10. IrfanView has a 'batch conversion' tool, which once configured to your liking can watermark, resize and optimize (reduce to a suitable size for websites) the pictures, from there the images are ready to be uploaded - at a small size to not clog the servers!
Hope you enjoy the results, I went quite wild on the post-processing to try and create a mood for each of the images.
Local timber merchant. Now I know where to go if I need some wood. They had all these huge poles stacked up as well as planks stacked up inside. The roof looks like it could do with some tin though!
Editing this previous fairly boring color photo into black and white, a moody atmosphere ermerges, then crank and twiddle the editing settings until satisfied!
On the other side of the lake, the new highway which cuts journey time to Bangkok, and continues all the way down through to the next province, Rayong. Part of new infrastructure projects across several hundred KM of land designated as a special economic zone.
Abandoned warehouses
Rooftops decaying and in various shades of rust make for a unique contrast
Ok not quite mono ... behind the scenes shot crossing the highway, and getting home before dark
Abandoned warehouses overgrown with vegetation become even more atmospheric in black and white. There was also a field of heavy digging equipment I spotted today. I'll be heading back for a full shoot in that crazy looking field soon .. with some more snake proof trousers and shoes on.
Looking across the full length of the lake. It's essentially dammed on this side with the road holding it back, it's job is to be a reservoir. There are birds, and people go fishing along the banks.
Cranking the edit settings to the max. This area can become a wetland when it rains heavily and for long enough. What appears to be a man and dog in the background, yet it's not this man's best friend. There are many strays living around, mostly they aren't aggressive towards people.
Man walks along the bank with his fishing rod ready to see what he can reel in.
