Here you can find parallel worlds, so to speak, Hollywood-style; in Cuban terms, it would be something like: everyone is on their own channel. I see it every day: a large number of people I come across in the street are lost in their thoughts, as if they were in another dimension. It’s super curious. And I don’t think it’s something unique to this place; I imagine it happens almost everywhere. It happens to me quite often too, which is why I try to focus on the present moment—otherwise, I end up missing everything around me 🤣.
Today I’m bringing you some images from yesterday, still very fresh. Let me tell you about them…
These snapshots 📸 are my submission for the #monomad challenge by @monochromes and @brumest.
Right away, these ladies caught my attention, chatting with a doll sitting in the sun. I stayed there for a while trying to ask them what the doll meant, but they were so absorbed in their conversation that I was practically invisible.
This was something I had never seen before: a young woman walking down one of the busiest streets wearing a horse mask. A guy was guiding her, and she was fully immersed in her role.
At first, I didn’t like the image; it felt a bit too busy. But the truth is, there are so many stories in it—everyone is there for something: buying, selling, watching…
What could this man have been thinking about?
The owner of the car seemed to be in a trance, watching me while I took photos. I even got a little scared, 🤣
In the end, everyone carries their own story. That’s why meditation is so healthy—it helps us stay present. And photography is also a kind of meditation, isn’t it?

Aquí se viven mundos paralelos, por decirlo de alguna manera al estilo Hollywood; en cubano sería: cada cual está en su canal, o algo así. Lo veo todos los días: una gran cantidad de personas que encuentro en la calle van ensimismadas en sus pensamientos, como si estuvieran en otra dimensión. Es súper curioso. Además, no creo que sea algo único de aquí; imagino que le pasa a casi todo el mundo. A mí me sucede con mucha frecuencia, por eso trato de concentrarme en el momento, porque si no, me pierdo todo lo que me rodea 🤣.
Hoy les traigo algunas imágenes de ayer, bien fresquitas; ya les cuento…
De momento me llamaron la atención estas señoras conversando, con la muñeca al sol. Allí estuve un rato intentando preguntarles qué significaba la muñeca, pero estaban tan concentradas en su plática que yo era prácticamente invisible.
Esto sí que nunca antes lo había visto: una chica caminando por una de las calles más transitadas con una máscara de caballo. El muchacho la guiaba, y ella metida completamente en su papel.
Al principio la imagen no me gustaba, como que la sentía muy cargada, pero es que aquí hay una cantidad de historias tremendas: cada persona está en función de algo —comprar, vender, mirar…
¿En qué iría pensando este señor?
El dueño del auto parecía en trance observándome mientras hacía las fotos; hasta un poco de miedo me dio, jajajaja.
Nada, que cada cual anda con su historia. Por eso la meditación es tan saludable, porque nos ayuda a estar presentes. Y la fotografía también es una especie de meditación, ¿verdad?
Pues eso es todo lo que quería compartir con la comunidad. Les agradezco siempre por su tiempo y su amabilidad; cualquier comentario me haría muy feliz, se los aseguro. Y recuerden: cuando estén en la calle, tengan precaución y no activen el modo automático, que entonces entran en un mundo paralelo como los protagonistas de mis fotos 🤣👌.
