Fish Creek is a provincial park within the city of Calgary. It is a great place to escape and get a taste of being immersed in nature without having to leave the city limits. There are dozens of pathways leading through the park, which is so large it cannot really be traversed in a day; you would more likely have to go several times to actually see every area that stretches from the east to the west and lies on the deeper south portion of the city.
This is one of my favorite parts; the pond attracts a great array of wildlife, and the nearby trees are also great for finding various species of birds and other small animals. I like being able to take a break and hang out around the water to see what I can find or sometimes just enjoy the calmness of the day.
