Beauty makeup photography _ monomad daily chalenge

Hi everyone, my dear friends in the Black and White community. Hope you're all doing well and that everything is going smoothly there. It's Manti, and I'm back with another photoshoot and blog post. This time, we also have a video to go along with our photography.

This video is about my collaboration with a team of makeup artists who specialize in creating exclusive, highly professional, and VIP bridal makeup looks. The photoshoot came after this video. Usually, in videography like this, since the content is created for social media and the video needs to be short, it's recorded vertically, or in the short-video format. My colleague, Feride Shahidi – we work together under the label "Rangarang Studio" – handled the videography part, which you can watch in full in the link at the end of this post.
But without further ado, let's dive into the photos we took.

In this photoshoot, we really wanted to capture the current trend in beauty and bridal makeup, which is leaning towards a more natural and dewy look. Especially in our Asian context, you'll notice that there's minimal retouching, just a dewy effect, and a trendy tiny jerry style paired with a hat. Something really interesting that caught my eye was the painterly feel and the play of light and shadow, giving the photos a very artistic vibe. I decided to use this color palette for these photos, which I think helps focus the viewer's attention on the face and the mood of the portrait. I used a consistent approach throughout and added another ring light to create a captivating halo effect in the eyes. I also placed a U-shaped reflector below to completely eliminate any shadows under the neck, allowing us to capture a stunning beauty portrait.

For those of you who work in beauty, whether it's in lighting for videography or photography, I highly recommend the U-shaped reflector. It's incredibly versatile and efficient at covering shadows created by key lights.
