It would be great if everyone could do their bit in initiatives like these, so we would keep the planet healthy as you say. The question is whether we are all willing to do it?

Some may be willing to take action, but we cannot force anyone, as they are occupied. This is why most people simply share information online and slogans about the current situation. Perhaps some will eventually come forward.
