Hi all ๐๐ป
Today I want to share with you some Black & White photographs of some interesting details I took while I was visiting Rome ~ Italy ๐ฎ๐น
They are โmy entry for the #monomad challenge" all photographs are taken with my (late) Canon eos 550D with 18 - 135 mm lens in February 2019.
I wonโt focus at what structure, building or monument we see and the history of it, I save that for another post in due courseโฆ letโs focus on details today ๐
Letโs start with this Photograph:
We see here a part of a marble statue. It just spoke to meโฆ even the statues high up the buildings surrounding us.
The amount of details are amazing, as you must know by nowโฆ I LOVE DETAILS ๐๐ฅฐ
The ancient buildings/ temples were everywhere.
A fountain caught my eyeโฆ but just this detail of it. ๐
If you ever visit Rome, do look upโฆ as there is so much to see. Not just in front of you.
Wandering the streets and old neighbourhoods, little streets we pass by.
Ancient monuments.
Rusty balustradesโฆ by the river.
A large statue on the square.
Columnsโฆ everywhere.
Have you seen or read the Davinci Code?
Streets we wander throughโฆ
A dragon ๐
Old plaquesโฆ with some interesting visuals. This was small and could be easily missed wandering back streets.
Rainy days in Rome ๐ง๐ค๐

the building even though it looks very sturdy until now and of course it is a good picture
Thank you so much for appreciating my post @hattaarshavin have a great new week ๐๐ป๐
Haha that little turtle on the fountain really cracked me up :D
It is sooo cool indeed hahaha who can miss itโฆ ๐๐ค
Thanks @ewkaw ๐๐ข
Definitely enjoyed my time in Rome thatโs for sure! Brings me back to some of the things we saw there. Thereโs so many details itโs impossible to take them all in!
It was fun exploring Roma, and you are rightโฆ impossible to take in all the details. Really everywhere you looked there was something, ancient buildings, statues, architecture, art, foodโฆ so much.
Have a great Sunday further and good start of the new week later ๐๐ปThatโs great to hear @cmplxty ๐๐
Stay a month and tell me what you think.
Rome wasnโt usโฆ ๐
I ss0Oo0o know what you mean.
Thought so ๐๐ค
To be fair, we enjoyed Tuscany and had a real nice time in Anzio. Rome, however .............more dots.
We havenโt done Tuscany yetโฆ thatโs great to hear you had a great time there. Maybe one day, but still our list to go to is long.
Yepโฆ. Let the dots fill in allโฆโฆโฆโฆ. Hahaha ๐คฃ
Lol I would love to stay a month but don't know if I'll ever get back over there again sadly
You've traveled the right places, @littlebee4! Wonderful photos!
I do travel a lot, ok not the last 2 years, but normally I do ๐ love exploring.Thank you so much @bluemoon ๐๐
Travel brightens our lives and takes us out of the daily routine of life. I regret not traveling more.
Yes, it so adds to our lives, it shapes us in many ways. ๐ค๐
Hope to go abroad soon again, but I want to wait until things calm down a bit more, as flights and airports are still a mess. And still different rules in countries concerning the virus.
Yes, now travel has become a challenge too. My son works at the airport in Bucharest and tells me how hard it is now.
Yes, I heard it all the timeโฆ we will wait a bit.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
Thank you!
Your shots are so awesome!
Is that a turtle? That detailed shot is probably my favorite!
Yes, it is a turtle ๐ข itโs my favourite too in this selection ๐๐ฅฐ
Thank for your visit. Have a wonderful Sunday further!Thank you so much @wittyzell ๐๐
So someone put the turtle in the fountain? ๐ค๐ Thatโs so cute!
It is not a โrealโ turtle ๐ all part of the larger statue. Itโs created out of stone. Sorry for the confusion, I should have said that in my answer.
Whatt?! OMG I was fooled ๐
I mean that seems real!
Hahaha ๐คฃ yep, it is incredible the amount of details the artist put in his sculptures.
I will show in another post more of this fountain one day.
The turtle sooo looks real. ๐ข๐
Ohh looking forward to it!
The one who made this is really so talented!
Nice tour. I recognize some of these.
We spent all of December 2019 there, could see the Colosseum from our balcony. And right below us like right-right below us was the best focaccia bread in the whole got dang country! So good. Stayed until like the 3rd or 4th of January and then 2020 got real weird.
New Years Eve in Rome was special.
Thanks @dandays ๐
Cool you recognise some of them and stayed so long. You got a good feeling for the place.
Sounds you were lucky with the location for the focaccia ๐
We stayed in Trastevere. Outside of everything.
Yepโฆ 2020 got weird indeedโฆ โto say the leastโ
I can imagine it must have been something.
Oh nice, we had many coffee's in Trastevere. The fifth shot down, there's not a lot of roads that specific, I'm sure we walked through there a gajillion times. I forget the exact number now and don't feel like mining out my old content but something like 1,600 churches in Rome alone and I forget how many fountains now, I wanna say 400 or something not counting the Nasonis.
Ima pull up a google earth image and show you were we stayed on Via Del Serpente, about 2 miles from Trastevere.
Yep, we walked there too a couple of times, but canโt tell you where it was. The DSLR had no gps like phones do.
I know there are soooo many churches, just everywhere. To much to see them all. You surely wouldnโt want to live close to one hehehe ๐คญ
We stayed in Via Goffredo Mameli around # 30 just before the steps up the mountain. The far end, that way we could easily explore back streets. Also be a bit away from the busyness. ๐ค
You are very good at taking pictures. All these photos look better in black and white. You know exactly what you want to show and how you want to show it. Thanks for the great post.
I thought in b&w they would be better for sure ๐
Have a great evening and good start of the week!Thank you so much @incublus for your kind comment ๐
Wow, so many sculptures, these are so beautiful it kept me wondering how the original would look like.
I will take your advice of looking upwards and not just focusing on what's in front of us.
All the best for the contest Jackie Ma'am ๐ค๐.
Most of the statues I showed are bigger, will post about them later one day.
Some have so many details, you donโt know where to look and what to see.
Thatโs good, as sometimes we miss some beautiful detailsโฆ higher up. Especially on large buildings in bigger cities. ๐
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday โ๏ธ๐๐ปThank you so much @hopestylist ๐ much appreciated!
Awesome, I will wait Patiently for that day then ๐คฉ๐คฉ.
Yes, I will always do well to look higher ๐๐คฉ.
You're always welcome Ma'am ๐๐ค.
Cool @hopestylist ๐๐ป๐
Thanks a lot, much appreciated!
You're most welcomed anytime ๐๐.
