Satay, a famous culinary dish in Indonesia

One of the typical Indonesian culinary delights whose taste and deliciousness are well known abroad is satay.

Satay is made from pieces of meat that are cut and then stabbed with a skewer, one of which is made from bamboo bones and coconut leaves, then coated with various spices such as peanuts, soy sauce and grilled over a fire. Satay can be eaten with warm rice and peanut sauce. Recipes and methods for making satay vary depending on the variations and recipes in each region.

This is one of the "Lamongan Jaya Agung" Sate Shops located on Sabang street, Central Jakarta. The owner is Jali Suprapto (74), a man from Siman Village, Lamongan, East Java. Jali was one of the first Soto Lamongan carriers to Jakarta around 1960.

From its appearance, it can be seen that the pieces of goat meat are very large, measuring around 2-3 centimeters in diameter. On one skewer there are four pieces, three meat and one fat in the middle. The price for one portion of Lamb satay starts from IDR 50K. And it tastes very tasty and delicious..
