Village life

After spending about the half of my life in the biggest city in Bulgaria, Sofia, I have to say that nowadays I really appreciate and enjoy the village life.

Even at the moment when I am writing this post, I am looking at the trees and bushes in the garden. From time to time I am getting distracted by the birds flying between the trees. It is simply awesome to be able to make a few steps and be outdoors. True, to live in a house is much bigger responsibility that living in a flat. For instance I have a running list of urgent and not-so urgent repairs to do and trust me, this list is never shorter than ten bullet points. Even sometimes when I check one of those tasks, two or three new appear. Well, I don't complain, as I kinda started to enjoy those repairs that I do mostly by myself. Hiring handy-men is really difficult and in the most cases, very expensive.

Another great advantage I have here is that I see the most of the sunset, from the garden. As in the summer, it is very hot and I am using the time in between the golden hours, the sunset and the blue hour to water the garden. I also enjoy the clouds, and sometimes the cloudscapes a lot.

There aren't much edible plants in our garden, a handful of vegetables and a few trees but for instance, while I am writing this post, I am cooking a jam, prepared totally from the fallen fruits - four sorts of apples; plums, peaches, quinces and one lemon. Its aroma is really divine and inspirational, and I think I have to stop writing now as this is getting too long and nobody is going to read it anyway :D

You probably know by now how much I love Black & White or sometimes referred as Monochromatic photography. I have always believed that while Color Photography shows the external part of our world, Black and White Photography shows the soul, the inner hidden side of everything. Please consider the first photo of this post as my entry today to the established #monomad daily contest by the monochromes account and community and supported by the qurator account, thank you everyone for your hard and continuous efforts to build and grow this great community!

You are really lucky, I would say! It's not just about to live in a village, but also to like this type of life. It is not easy for sure (I recently watched a video of a woman who complained how many responsibilities one has when living in a house in a village - how for instance you have to mow the lawn on a regular basis and this is very exhausting 😆) But you also know how shameful it is in this country to say you live in the countryside. Therefore, starting such a life, a person here has to fight with many things - with all the disturbances and inconveniences, but also with the prejudices of people.

Those who lived all their lives in the big cities just don't know the feeling. Prejudices... just don't care :D

Love the skies. I think I will always be more of a city person myself :D

Let's talk again when you get older :P
Also, cities are so different. Comparing London vs. NY - they hardly could be compared at all ;) Hop on the tube and in less than 15 minutes you get out in districts that look and feel like a small town, not a megapolis ;) You know ;)

Thank you!

in the garden of my living almost every plants are eatable

I am thinking more and more in that direction, considering where our petty world is going on. Also, there are so many unfair things when speaking about vegetables production - the merchants and the stores profit much more than the producers, at least in my country.

True. Tree take so many years to properly grow though. Insects and deceases are getting more and more aggressive each year at the same time...

Strange, it seems some of the trees grow much faster, probably confused by the climate changes too.
Two years ago I planted two column apples and one column pear. One of the apple trees has more than 20 fruits on it, getting ripe soon. And it's only about 2 meters tall. :)
