What are we all to see yet?
Yesterday, for the very first time it was reported by witnesses that people are watchin Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights, over Bulgaria.
Today, my news feed surprised me, by bringing the news to me from, well... "India Today". I won't delve into the mysteries of the news world as this is indeed a total surprise to me, I am sure it has its logic but anyway... but still, what has India to do with reporting first Northern Lights over the distant small European country, called Bulgaria???
Nevertheless, what made people really freak out is that the Lights were all red!
Of course, there is a logical explanation to this, and to everything in fact, it's the lack of oxygen, while the "usual" green color of It comes from certain levels of oxygen in the air up above.
Unfortunately, where I live, there was no lights show in the night sky.
So all these photos I share today are gift from a previous trip with a lovely but freezing summer night with negative temperatures at the Western parts of Iceland. Yup, I desaturated this one and colored it in bloody red.
Truth to be told, the Lights that night had the full spectrum of colors - purple, blue, green, red, violet, orange, etc.
Now let's strip away these colors and let our imagine do the work! :)
You probably know by now how much I love Black & White or sometimes referred as Monochromatic photography. I have always believed that while Color Photography shows the external part of our world, Black and White Photography shows the soul, the inner hidden side of everything. Please consider the first photo of this post as my entry today to the established #monomad daily contest by the monochromes account and community and supported by the qurator account, thank you everyone for your hard and continuous efforts to build and grow this great community!

We probably had a sky like this in Estonia last night but it was all cloudy and I didn't see a thing. I saw some photos taken in eastern Estonia where thinner clouds were. The glow was intense even through the clouds and all over the sky.
What you gonna do, December is almost always cloudy here.
I suppose you've had the Lights before but here, it scared the sh*t out of those who saw it, Bulgaria is pretty down South, and I hear lots of biblical comment on the social nets :)
Yeah, it's been quite a regular sight here recently.
Lol, well I can imagine that people who have no idea what is or have never seen it might think this is something bad haha.
Lol, yeah, Earth magnetic protection still on and working, and now - visible there too :)
The planet is definitely changing though.
The current high aurora activity is tied to the 11 year solar cycles. After every 11 years sun magnetic fields flip.
This creates low and high activity periods. At the moment we are nearing a high activity point, peaking in 2024/2025 so a lot of activity is still to come. This means violent explosions on the sun and towards us in the form of particles, therefore resulting in storms strong enough you can even see in the south.
Funny you say it, as there was a special documentary on a national TV channel and they said exactly this.
Then a PhD shows and explains there was a big HAARP experiment at the same time but "it was not enough powerful to cause that by itself. But maybe a combination.". Well, I am not a conspiracy theorist but it still makes me think :)
I need to check out what this experiment is about, have not heard about it before.
Thank You very much for participating and for being part of the Black And White Community!Congratulations. Today's #monomad first place is yours.
Thanks so much, really means a lot! :)
They have been around way over here, quite south in North America too. I haven't stayed up late enough to see them, but someday. I really like those black and white shots (although the red reminds me of Lovecraftian horror, for some reason)
I wouldn't mind to see them where I live too but I would definitely be worried if not scared too... Everything's possible though, for good or bad...

Oh, I slept through something like that... Maybe today it will be also possible to see that?
I have no idea, not at all. Probably today it is not a good idea to spend much time outdoors ;)
I love it
