My first shooting-Monomad challenge

IMG_0497-4.jpg

It's not the first time I've stepped into a photography studio, but this time I did it as a photographer.

Honestly, portraits of this style aren't my thing.

And I'm not saying it's something bad or unimportant. Don't get me wrong.

There's a reason why there are so many talented photographers who create art.

The thing is, I don't feel like a fish in water. In fact, when people call me a photographer, it feels a bit off because I don't feel like one. I consider myself a communicator and use photography as a means of expression. It might seem the same, but to me, it's not.

I enjoy documenting, and I can't see myself doing anything else (that I enjoy, at least).

However, this doesn't mean that studio photo sessions are the worst thing ever.

In fact, I had a good time photographing my girlfriend, her mom, and a photographer friend who helped me with the setup.

And yes, the bald guy next to a pretty girl, that's me.
