Hello #Hive friends!.... Welcome to another edition of "Stolen Stories", my black and white street photography series.... This is, as usual, my entry to today's #monomad challenge...

¡Hola amigos de #Hive!... Bienvenidos a otra edición de "Historias Robadas", mi serie de fotografía callejera en blanco y negro... Esta es, como de costumbre, mi entrada al reto #monomad de hoy...

"Drunk as a skunk"... Well, I don't know the name of this man who is lying absolutely drunk (and asleep) in the "comfort" of the concrete side of the street... But you can't deny that he was worthy of a photo!... Sadly this is a fairly common sight to see on Saturday and Sunday mornings... It seems to me that the quality of the liquor sold here is questionable!... 😂

"Borracho como una cuba"... Bien, desconozco el nombre de este hombre que yace absolutamente borracho (y dormido) en la "comodidad" de la orilla de cemento de la calle... ¡Pero no podrán negar que era digno de una foto!... Lamentablemente esto es algo bastante común de observar durante las mañanas de los Sábados y Domingos... ¡Me parece que la calidad del licor que se vende por aquí es cuestionable!... 😂

"Lettuce, the grocer"... I've been referring to my friend in the photos as "Lechuga" (his nickname) for so many years that I've completely forgotten his real name... I'll have to ask him one of these days!... Anyway, "Lettuce" always has a smile on his face and I don't think he'll mind my forgetfulness... 😂 Even his kiosk is named: "Lettuce"!...

"Lechuga, el tendero"... Llevo tantos años refiriéndome a mi amigo de la fotos como "Lechuga" (su sobrenombre) que ya me he olvidado por completo de su nombre verdadero... ¡Tendré que preguntarselo un día de estos!... De la manera que sea, "Lechuga" siempre tiene una sonrisa en su rostro y no creo que le moleste mi olvido... 😂 ¡Inclusive su kiosco se llama "Lechuga"!...

"Nothing to comment"... Street photography is something charming enough for me to "just" shoot a photo because two dogs barked at me... And then it's just that, a simple street, if nothing decisive for a photo, but with a charm let's say "everyday"...

"Nada que comentar"... La fotografía callejera es algo o suficientemente encantador como para que "simplemente" yo dispare una foto porque dos perros me han ladrado... Y entones es eso, una calle simple, si nada determinante para una foto, pero con un encanto digamos "cotidiano"...

"I'm part of it"... I'm walking down the street, I watch the lady sweeping, she looks at me for a moment and then looks down... I know her only in passing, I don't even know her name, but I greet her every time I pass by her street... She knows that I will take a photo of her, but that doesn't seem to cause her any interest... So, when these things happen to me... I feel "part of it, of these streets, I mean"...

"Soy parte de esto"... Voy por la calle, observo a la señora barriendo, ella me mira durante un momento y luego baja la mirada... La conozco solo de pasada, ni siquiera sé su nombre, pero la saludo cada vez que paso por su calle... Ella sabe que le haré una foto, pero eso no parece causarle ningún interés... Entonces, cuando me suceden estas cosas... Me siento "parte de esto, de estas calles quiero decir"...

"The cat through the wire fence"... Quite an accurate title, isn't it?... But I couldn't think of anything else!... But this photo serves to remind me that both cats and dogs are seen in these streets in almost the same number as people... It's a curious thing, their populations have been increasing over the last two decades... Before that, I don't remember seeing them this abundant...

"El gato a través de la alambrada"... Un titulo bastante exacto, ¿no?... ¡Pero no se me ha ocurrido nada más!... Pero esta foto me sirve para recordar que tanto los gatos como los perros se ven en estas calles casi en la misma cantidad que las personas... Es algo curioso, sus poblaciones se han venido incrementando a lo largo de las dos ultimas décadas... Antes de eso, no recuerdo haber visto que fuese así de abundantes...

"Pork rinds El Gordito"... Well... I've stumbled across something new on the streets!... This young lad sells chicharrones (pork rinds) in that place... And he cooks them right there!... I took the opportunity to take a photo of him, and when I asked him his name he answered: "El Gordito" (the fat boy)... Every day it is more and more difficult for people to use their real name in this town!... 😂

"Chicharrones El Gordito"... Bien... ¡Me he topado con algo nuevo en las calles!... Este jovenzuelo vende chicharrones en ese lugar... ¡Y los cocina allí mismo!... Aproveché de hacerle una foto, y cuando le pregunté su nombre me contesto: "EL Gordito"... ¡Cada día es más difícil que la gente use su verdadero nombre en este pueblo!... 😂

"Entrance to Saigon"... It is curious, but that is the entrance to a piece of land which years ago belonged to an educational institution and which had the misfortune of being illegally invaded by people from other towns (that usually happens with the consent of the government in power)... So, a very particular neighbourhood was consolidated there and the locals began to call it "Saigon" because that city appeared as a dangerous place in some films, especially war films... And that's what it's been called ever since!...

"Entranda a Saigón"... Es curioso, pero esa es la entrada a un terreno el cual hace años atrás pertenecía a una institución educativa y que tuvo la desgracia de ser invadido ilegalmente por personas de otros pueblos (eso suele suceder con la anuencia de los gobernantes de turno)... Entonces, allí se consolidó una barriada bastante particular y las personas de aquí comenzaron a llamarle "Saigón" debido a que esa ciudad aparecía como un lugar peligroso en algunas películas, especialmente las de guerra... ¡Y así se ha seguido llamando desde entocnes!...

"One Sunday morning"... The wonderful thing about the streets of my village is that everything can change in a few metres... This photo of that little girl moving along a lonely street on her skateboard, I took it less than five streets away from where I took the one of "Entrance to Saigon"... They seem to be taken from different worlds!... And in a way that's true...

"Una mañana de Domingo"... Lo maravilloso de las calles de mi pueblo es que, todo puede cambiar en unos cuantos metros... Esta foto de esa niña desplazándose por una calle solitaria sobre su patineta, la tomé a menos de cinco calles de donde hice la de "Entrada a Saigón"... ¡Parecen sacada de mundos distintos!... Y en cierta forma eso es así...
