Hi friends!
Right now, I'm having a difficult time. I made contact with a friend who is infected with Covid-19, and now I'm quarantined in my rented room. It's a big bummer because I won't be able to go home for the Tet vacation tomorrow as planned. And, in the worst-case situation, I'll be spending my Tet holiday alone and away from home for the first time in my life. That concept has been circling my head for a few days, and it makes me feel awful. Then I realize I need to do something to clear my head, so I resume photographing. And, because I am the only model in my room, I decided to snap some self-portraits.
My room has a window, and when around 4 or 5 pm, the sunlight shines directly to my room through that window. My job is just to wait til golden hours show up and take pictures. I shoot all these with the Fujifilm XT20 on a tripod and I used a vintage lens SMC takumar 55 f1.8.
First, I try some normal and basic shots. Because the light is from the right, so my poses are almost head to the right side. I think that will create some nice contrast, high light and shadow on my face. I am not a professional photographer, so if I said anything wrong, please show and teach me about that. That would improve my skill a lot.
After that, I did some long exposure shots. I love this style, It creates smooth motions, like water, feels real and unreal at the same time.
This is my entry for the #monomad challenge. Thank you to @monochromes for taking the initiative to host daily challenges in this wonderful community. Have a nice day!
