I was looking for the words to describe the clouded thoughts that were spinning in my head but I just couldn't grasp them. They kept slipping from my fingertips as an illusive creature that I could sense but not touch.
I started writing anyway.
Maybe once I was drifted in the kingdom of words, I would find them. Find the ones that I was missing, the ones that I was struggling to figure out.
Or maybe not, I don't really know.
What I want to write down resonates with the pictures. It is dark but beautiful. It is colourless but promises lots of colour, it is sharp and it is blurry at the same time. It is more or less what life is giving us every day.
Dark thoughts and promising hopes. Confidence and insecurities. Black and white.
They say that free-writing is the best way to see written your actual thoughts, unfiltered, unedited. But I find words confusing and very often deceiving. I prefer to speak with pictures. No matter how much edited they are, pictures are more straightforward. Even if they represent a false reality, a lie, an illustration of someone's imagination, they still say the truth.
They say the truth about the thoughts of the one that fabricated them, more clearly and more reliably than any words.
But then again I am a photographer, what else would I say?
The camera that I used is a Canon EOS 6D mark II with an EF 100mm f2.8L macro lens attached. I edited the photographs in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic .
All the pictures and the words are mine.

A charming work, a delight to look at these well-managed sepia tones... You are a poet and that is what you have done in these photos... Looking at them made me remember the small postcards (envelope size) that my maternal grandmother used to accompany the letters that she sent to her relatives who lived far away... She liked flowers and she liked to accompany her letters with those postcards with flowers... I'm talking about the 70s, my childhood... A round of applause for you and your talent friend, thanks for sharing...

I'd add that some things are black and white ;)
And it's only when we can't discern the one from the other that things get blurred and become grey in the mix.
True!
I want to come and live in Crete!
I've met quite a few that came for vacations and never left :)
I bet they did!
Okay. I best start trying to save that money, then :)
Until then I'll keep discovering the country via your journey
