Continuing my black and white series, this is a collection of lightpainting shots converted to monochrome and look all the better for it!
I don't mind admitting this shot took ages to set up but to actually shoot in one exposure only a few attempts. First I shot my willing victim (aka volunteer) stood in the gate and I spun a small amount of steel wool on a drill. I then lens capped the camera while leaving the camera still exposing. My victim (aka volunteer) made his way to the back of the jetty and I waved a pair of net curtains whilst waving a torch to create a pseudo flame effect:
I originally shot this as a kind of behind the scenes shot to demonstrate how it was actually shot. Unfortunately it's not possible to shoot in this abandoned church in the middle of Lincolnshire due to a preservation society keeping a close watch on the place!
Monochromatic alien....Simple backlighting on the Monsal Trail in Derbyshire:
And finally, no lightpainters were harmed during the making of this photo:
All of the above images were shot in one photographic exposure and are not Photoshop creations apart from the obvious conversion to mono....
About me:
I usually specialise in shooting lightpainting images but occasionally dabble in urbex and artistic model photography. I'm always on the lookout for someone to collaborate with; please don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to create art.
