I'm back with another self-portrait adventure! This time, I donned a cozy, long light-colored knit over a gray one, and ventured deep into the woods.
One of my favorite poses is a classic side profile, eyes closed, head tilted slightly up. It's a pose that exudes tranquility and can be captured beautifully in any natural setting. And don't forget those earrings! They add that extra touch of elegance.
For my second shot, I switched lenses and stepped back to capture a wider perspective. I placed myself in the center of the frame, hand in pocket, surrounded by the towering trees. The elongated lines of the trees and my posture create a sense of harmony and interconnectedness.
Now, let's talk portraits. I used an 85mm lens for this one. The higher the number, the better it is for portraits, as it creates a beautiful bokeh effect, blurring out the background.
I focused on conveying emotion through my pose and expression. From the placement of my hands to the direction of my gaze, I aimed to draw the viewer in.
Lastly, I included a half-body shot. This post highlights different framing techniques and lens choices. We explored wide-angle shots with a 50mm lens, a half-body shot, and a portrait with an 85mm lens. Remember, a clean, uncluttered background is key for striking images.
In addition to the points I've mentioned, here are some other important tips to elevate your outdoor photography:
Don't miss the golden hour: The golden and blue hours are times of day when sunlight is softer and warmer, creating stunning colors in your photos. Try to shoot during these times.
Make the most of natural light: Natural light can add depth and beauty to your photos.Try using sunlight as a natural light source and experiment with different angles of light.
Pay attention to the background: The background of your photo has a big impact on the overall image. Try to choose backgrounds that complement your subject and don't distract the viewer from the main subject.
Thank you for joining me on this photographic journey. I'll be sharing more of my work soon. Until next time, happy shooting.
