This is my entry for #monomad challenge the community that hosted and curated by @monochromes

Djembe, is a percussion instrument played by hitting it with the fingers or palms. The body of the Djembe is generally made of wood carved using a machine or traditionally using a hand chisel in a shape resembling a cup or trophy. The upper part as a membrane that produces vibrations when hit is usually made of dried animal skin such as goat, cow, or other animals. In more modern djembes, this membrane is usually replaced with synthetic materials such as plastic mica. The drum membrane is tied with a rope that is tied to the body to tighten it.

Djembe is a musical instrument that originated from the African continent, precisely in the kingdom of Mali in the 12th century. The name djembe comes from the Mali proverb "Anke djé, anke bé" which translates to "everyone gathers in peace" which explains the usefulness of this instrument. In Mali, "djé" is the verb for "gather" and "bé" is translated as "peace". Initially, Djembe was used as a means of communication between villages on the African plains. Then in its development, djembe was used as equipment for traditional ceremonies. (Source-Wikipedia)
