Nothing About Swans

in Black And White17 hours ago (edited)

I like black and white photographs. I grew up with just this kind of photos, not only, on TV and in black-and-white movies. That's because I'm old enough and because I spent my childhood and youth in a totalitarian country on the edge of Europe, a country that lagged behind technology.

Back in those days when I was "dying" to see color images in magazines and color movies, I wasn't such a big fan of black and white photos. For these and many other reasons, black and white photos remind me of the past, of a long-gone era. Now these photos make me nostalgic...

Those who have read what I have posted know that I have a passion for the sea and for a small town where I love to see the sea. This town means the joy of the sea to me, but it is also a fascinating part of my country's history when Romania was a monarchy.

The city is Balchik in Bulgaria, where one of Romania's most politically and culturally important queens chose to build a castle for the royal family to spend the summer at the seaside.

I chose Balchik for its current and colorful beauty but I also like to think of Balchik in the last century and think black and white images are the best fit.

Thus, a month ago, my most recent trip there allowed me to see in black and white...

People who adore the sea and sun, whether tourists or locals, will utilize any stretch of beach, no matter how small, to relish the offerings of the sea.

Children are the biggest sea, sand, and water lovers. The father is always at his son's disposal and protector.
Nothing about swans!

Even a mother cannot escape this obligation, the most enjoyable duty, even if it is difficult. Luckily she can swap with the father.
Nothing about swans!

This is what a beach looks like in Balchik. Not too good, in Bulgaria, there are countless huge beaches with fine sand, however, there are many who prefer to come here.
Even a swan!

This solitary swan was, however, the star of the place.

I made every effort to resist the urge to mention her.

This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.

@tipu curate

I started into photography doing black and white back in the 70s
When I started again a few years back I seldom did B&W but now getting back into it

I think the sand of Black Sea is unique, but its sea is not as good as Aegean.

Good portrait of my friend, black and white images always have a different unique side, his father is very quick to protect his son from a goose playing on the beach.
Good shot my friend.
