The hot sun did not stop the spirit of 12,262 saman dancers from 145 villages in Gayo Lues. They marched towards the field to the Thousand Hills stadium, Blangkejeren Gayo Lues, Aceh Province.
to give their best performance to the thousands of spectators who have been waiting for them.

Their hands deftly beat their chests, while shaking their heads regularly to the left and right.
The Saman dance looks fast and attractive in every movement showing harmony and togetherness

The Saman gayo dance is usually performed at big events. This Saman dance comes from gayo played by young men wearing traditional costumes. Above the head tucked a leaf as an accessory.

Until now, the gayo community continues to maintain and preserve the Saman dance left by their ancestors and is now an intangible world heritage from UNESCO.
