Volviendo a Santa Clara/Returning to Santa Clara (Esp-Eng)

in Black And White2 years ago

A few weeks ago I returned to my grandmother's city, Santa Clara, who took me every summer when I was little. Back here, walking through its streets characterized by their cleanliness and tranquility, I took photos of the things that filled me with memories and took me back to my childhood.

The so-called motorcycles that travel the most through these streets, and that my grandmother always took me for a ride in one of them, of course I couldn't help but get on and stop feeling that emotion from before. Taking the same route as always, looking at the landscape with longing, I am stopped by the railway line where a freight train passed, the Santa Clara railway station is the third largest in Cuba, thus being one of the most important in the country.

Almost arriving at my destination, Leoncio Vidal Park, I passed by the Nuestra Señora del Buen Viaje Church where my grandmother told me that she got married when she was young and that it was one of the happiest days of her life. Santa Clara is a city full of culture, but what I love most about here are the people, their love and kindness, people with a good heart, as evidenced in my last photo that shows a girl giving hospitality to a stray dog.

Sort:

What a beautiful Santa Clara and in black and white it has its magic. I went there once to visit some relatives who live in a nearby village called Vega de Palma, I think.
