Yesterday afternoon, I came upon this cute bug in the bushes. It is known as Proutista moesta (Westwood, 1851), a planthopper species belonging to the family Derbidae. It has a cool physical appearance that caught my attention right away. Even though it was smaller than a housefly in size, its shoulders appeared to be powerful enough to sustain the wings that shot up; these wings were much larger than the bug's little body. I can see that it has an abdomen that resembles a snail and a bowed head, which gives it the appearance of being shy. I decided to submit these macro shots to the daily #monomad challenge hosted by @monochromes.
