Let me introduce this guy, Nero. Was he the emperor who burned Rome? He wasn't! Nero is the Mangroves ranger. I have walked around the mangroves south of my town several times and often meet Nero.
Yesterday afternoon I met him again. When I was walking, this guy deliberately sat down, blocking the small path that we were supposed to pass through. He didn't want to block our way at all; it was just a gesture that he owned the territory there, and we had to get his permission to pass. Oh yes, he has the guts of a lion.
Nero is rather thin. There is a little dirt on his eyelids and scars on his nose and neck. I noticed his paws sticking out claws when he heard a noisy sound from the river. Yes, he is always on alert at any time but calms down again when the sound disappears.
A feeling of regret arose when we only brought coffee without food. So there was nothing we could give to Nero. Even though we knew he had a lot of rations around the river. He can easily hunt mudskippers or crabs.
Nero is a good person, unlike the emperor who burned Rome. Nature must have made him a strong cat to survive in the mangroves. Keep being a good guy, Nero!
