Monomad: Male Heavy Jumping Spider

This male heavy jumping spider (Hyllus diardi) was captured this afternoon in my yard. What a fierce and muscular guy! The coarse golden hairs covering his dark body and sturdy legs are enough to confirm that he is a true male. His jaws are large enough to intimidate any opponent or prey. Most jumping spiders tend to behave actively, while this guy is calm and dignified. Instead of being afraid, he didn't even flinch at the "big eye" (lens) glaring at him. What a brave guy!
