There is a curve on Malecón Avenue that surfers call "the bass." There the waves always break in a particular way, because the depth in that stretch of coast and the retaining wall make the waves bounce and create interesting waves for them. On that curve the sea almost always splashes the sidewalk, and in times of storms the violence with which the sea tries to take away the concrete is truly spectacular. I went towards that curve on a calm sea day to capture the capricious undulations of the waves that come and go when they bounce. I made several long exposures, from one to three seconds, to convey that calm that fascinates me about the sea when I capture it that way.
