I manage Leicester Museum & Art Gallery and our post COVID lockdown blockbuster exhibition is Brick City.
A celebration of iconic buildings from cities around the world, carefully and ranging from pastiche to highly accurately recreated in LEGO® bricks by artist Warren Elsmore and his team.
Take a world tour and discover highlights of cities across all seven continents.
You’ll visit iconic buildings from New Zealand to New Orleans, tall skyscrapers from New York to Mecca, and imaginative castles from medieval Japan to modern day Las Vegas.

Discovering new urban highlights as well as some more recognisable icons. Spot surprising common ground between buildings thousands of years and miles apart, such as the Roman Colosseum and the London 2012 Olympic Park.
The magnificent centrepiece is London St Pancras Station, measuring two by four metres and built from over 180,000 standard LEGO® bricks.
Whether you have thousands of LEGO® bricks or just a few, hopefully you’ll be inspired to make your own creations.
Mona Lisa - Warren Elsmore
My favourite things in the exhibition however aren’t the buildings, everyone is expected to make buildings out of bricks, my favourite is a life size replica of the Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci and the Brick City Kids Exhibition Trail created by the museum staff which is available to download and use on your visit, with LEGO® Characters hidden all over the museum.
Because of COVID you will need to book your general visit to Leicester Museum and Art Gallery in advance of your visit. Tickets do not need to be booked specifically for this exhibition, general entry tickets to the museum will allow you to see the exhibition.
Leicester Museum and Art Gallery has been Free For All since 1849.

Looks like a pretty cool exhibition
It really is, shame that the pandemic prevented us from doing the best bit - a huge table full of Lego for people to make their own additions to the exhibition!! Alas cancelled by covid
Now I wish I was going to Leicester again soon. I love Lego and my kids grew up with it too. Hope the exhibition does well.
