LEGO® Brick Convention in Sacramento (2025)

in LEGO2 months ago

This weekend, our family attended the Brick Convention in Sacramento at the Cal Expo. Brick Convention is a LEGO® fan event with many attractions, events, and vendors.

This was our first time attending a convention like this, so we had no idea what to expect. Personally, I anticipated that there would be large crowds and a lot to see, and I was not disappointed!

Bricktoria's Secret

This display from "Bricktoria's Secret" was the first major vendor that caught our attention. You can't help but chuckle at the clever name. The bright pink banner stands out from afar.

It's a Block Party

Another large retailer was "It's a Block Party" which may have had the most sets and minifigures of everyone at the convention.

Many people were crowding in to get a look at all the minifigures on display. The person on the left of this photo has a neat bracelet on the arm made of bricks.

Until now, I had no idea there was a set available of the famous Fallingwater home designed by the architect Frank Lloyd Wright. That's a set that would be enjoyable to build and display. No chance I'm buying it for $650 though!

Bricks at War

There was an entire section by "Bricks at War" with various sets built representing World War I, World War II, and others.

There were many more displays than are shown here; I only captured a few photographs of these.

B3 Customs (Build Better Bricks)

image.png

I have little knowledge about custom brick sets or sellers, and this was my first time seeing this company, Build Better Bricks, or "B3 Customs" as the labels said on the packaging. This particular vendor had a nice setup, everything was clean and professional looking, it was one of my favorites. They had many interesting custom designs that caught my attention.

A custom alien, excuse me, a custom Xenomorph figure.

Not far away was a Predator figure.

The Iron Giant was a unique idea, haven't seen anything like this prior to attending the convention.

The miniature games and arcade were adorable.

Of course, they had plenty of lightsabers and other Star Wars sets available.

Large Wild West Display

This was an impressive Western display created by Tim Hutchings, who was a contestant on LEGO® Masters Season Four.

Star Wars by AC Pin

One area had several large displays constructed by AC Pin.

Big Kid Brix (Custom Minifigures)

If you like minifigures, you would have loved the display by Big Kid Brix. They had so many cool custom minifigures. They are also all comically misspelled. 😆

Here were a few from GI Joe.

They also had several from Star Wars.

The Venue

Here are some pictures I snapped from the balcony overlooking the entire venue.

I could have taken hundreds of additional photos. There were so many displays to see, it was almost overwhelming. Our family had a great time and we enjoyed seeing all the sets, large displays, and custom creations. If you like bricks, I definitely recommend attending a local convention near you!
