Aloha Surflimpo fam! What's up?
As agreed, we are bringing here a summary of our weekly Surflimpo Community meetings. If you haven't read any of our last recaps, check it out here.
Our meetings are being held weekly, and are more of a "community meeting". We are bringing news, partner projects to present themselves and leaving space for questions and suggestions.
As not everyone can participate, we will publish a "Surflimpo Community Meeting Summary" here and on our Discord, so you can stay on top of what's happening.
The Surflimpo Community Meeting takes place every Wednesday from 2 to 3 pm (Brazilian Standard Time, UTC-03:00) via Google Meet (access the meeting link here) and is held in PT-BR. Everyone is invited!
The rewards obtained through this post, which will remain on the Surflimpo account, will be used to support the Surflimpo community in its impact actions, such as beach cleaning events and support for socio-environmental projects that take care of our oceans or that use surfing as a tool for inclusion.
Surflimpo Community Meeting Summary (12/21/2022)
That was our last meeting of the year! And what a year!
In our last meeting, we lit the crowd's flame to think about ideas and projects for the next year, specifically on getting funding. But before we present our projects to the DAOs, we need to "migrate" to the world of web3 and start using the tools that everyone uses to "be seen". Today, we are talking about "mandatory" tools in the world of web3 and the preparation and orientation to carry out our projects.

1. Web3 communication tools: Discord and Twitter
🔶 Discord
Discord is a communication tool that works like a virtual office. Imagine that it is a messaging application that can be divided into channels, topics, and subtopics with different themes and where we can also make video calls. Our idea is to start having our meetings there next year. So already, download the app on your computer and phone and start getting used to it. Join SurfHive's Discord and start trading there.
Why Discord? All DAOs are on Discord, and that's where we can asynchronously monitor everything that's happening within that community. At the same time, as it is possible to divide it into channels, topics, and subtopics (or threads), we can deal with specific subjects without losing the line of the story.

Twitter is the unofficial "official network" of web3. It is a "micro-blog" for real-time communication that millions of people and organizations use. Like Discord, all DAOs are there and use "bots" that communicate and are integrated with Discord and other tools, creating a unique network.
If you don't have a Twitter account yet, get one and start getting involved and following and keeping up with the DAOs we've already mentioned here, and you'll be much more in tune with the world of Web3. It is on Twitter that many organizations make announcements of grants and "public notices" to obtain funding. It's a way to stay on top of the communities and be seen by the communities.
2. Tools for SurfHive: Drop, cRecy, and Hive
We've already discussed and explained these three tools in this post; it's worth reading if you still need to understand more about them. Here we present these tools in that order, as it is one of the easiest ways to get along here at SurfHive.
You must use and get used to each tool before exploring another one. Test it, use it, ask questions, and then move on to the next. Start with DROP, then move on to cRecy or Hive.
🔶 DROP
DROP is the social currency of the Surflimpo community, SurfHive's impact project that pays people for participating in beach cleaning actions, among many other activities.
Join the community using this invite link. And here in this link, you will find a tutorial on how to create your account in the community using the @cambiatus2022 webapp.
Why start with DROP? This is the easiest-to-use interface. DROP is based on a blockchain, but you don't need to understand what a blockchain is to use it. Create your account, participate in some action, claim your DROPs and make an offer on the community marketplace.
🔶 cRecy
cRecy is the token of Detrash, an organization that encourages recycling by rewarding people for separating and correctly disposing of their waste and companies for recycling waste.
To participate, you must create an account on the Detrash webapp here. Register as a waste generator or recycler (depending on your activity), and whenever you dispose of your garbage, submit a form in the app stating the amount of waste you discarded and upload a video showing that you correctly disposed of your trash or an invoice or proof that your waste was properly disposed of (for example, at a recycling company or project that recycles waste). We have already discussed this in more detail in this post, and you can learn more in practice by watching this video (portuguese only).
After a while, your form goes through an evaluation, and you receive your tokens on the Detrash webapp. These tokens can be sold, and you will be earning money for helping to clean up the world.
To sell your tokens, you need to have a cryptocurrency wallet, and we recommend Metamask (we'll talk about this wallet later in this post). Download Metamask on your phone and create your account. Integrating the wallet with the Detrashh webapp can be tricky, but if you need help, talk to us on Discord.
🔶 Hive
Hive is a blockchain with a social network where we post content and earn for it (we have a whole post about Hive here, read it!). This social network has different front-ends: PeaKD for desktop and Ecency for mobile. And as every blockchain has coins and tokens, you need to have the Hive wallet (Hive Keychain) to store your resources and facilitate your access to the network using simpler passwords.
For new arrivals, follow this step-by-step guide to onboarding at SurfHive and getting good results:
- Log in and register using the @luizhadad referral link: https://peakd.com/register?ref=luizhadad ;
- Download HiveKeychain on PC and mobile and connect your account;
- Write a post introducing yourself within the SurfHive community, preferably with photos of you surfing or doing activities related to the sea and a selfie or photo of your face. Talk about yourself, the projects you participate in, and what you came to do at Hive - at least 300 words;

- Still in your presentation post, tag @luizhadad, thanking him for the onboard on Hive;
- Send @luizhadad the link to your presentation post and all the other posts you make. He will send your posts to the OCD curatorship, where he gets votes in addition to the presentation posts (Luiz is an onboarder of the OCD community, and they have a lot of voting power - they are the ones who will make your intro post rock) ;
- Luiz will tweet your post later and tag you with #Hive; this is the last step 🙃;
- Once you receive rewards on your post, start socializing on Hive, commenting, and liking posts from SurfHive and other communities. Try to make friends, explore other niche communities, and get into the habit of posting frequently;
- For each post you make, share it on other networks (Twitter, Discord, Instagram, Whatsapp groups). The more people you bring to the network, the more curators like it, and there are also more people to vote for your content 😊.
3. Am I ready to submit my project?
Hold your horses, grasshopper!
We talk about all these tools because they are significant. We know we have fantastic ideas and projects that deserve funding and attract attention. But only that works on web3 if you're seen.
After all, those who are not seen are not remembered, as Patrick Munzfeld has said.
Before applying for funding for your project from any organization or DAO, you must engage with communities. Collaborate, be active, ask questions, and attend meetings. Give to receive: be an active community member and reap the rewards.
And you will do that using these tools: Discord and Twitter. It can be a giant leap for those who are used only to Whatsapp, Instagram, Facebook, and other similar tools, but believe me; you need to make that leap. Soon you will get used to it and see that it's a path of no return!
In short, this engagement work requires dedication, but know that there are many opportunities out there. There is a massive demand for the types of projects that our SurfHive community has to offer.
One of the things that makes it easier is to start using Discord (enter SurfHive's Discord and start interacting there). This facilitates entry into other communities and platforms that operate Discord and makes us more agile in setting up projects.
Engaging is a job that takes time, and it's a great way to show your project to the community before, in fact, submitting it to some web3 platform, as the community can and will help you to refine it and take shape. So, to participate in the process of putting together and championing your proposal, start engaging in the community and getting involved!
4. Where to submit my project?
Let's suggest, for now, a crowdfunding platform on Web3. Let's present it quickly so you can get to know it and have an idea of what it is about and already talk about why you need a cryptocurrency wallet (like Metamask).
🔶 Giveth.io
Giveth is a DAO and a kind of crowdfunding on the web3 that anyone can create and present their project on the platform to obtain funds. It's an excellent way to start, with small projects, to start being seen too.
Even at Giveth, you need to get involved (before and after) to optimize the gain, as there is a whole dynamic behind it for you to increase the collection's reach.

Having a project on Giveth also works as one of the gateways to getting more funding on other platforms, as you already gain credibility to get grants on other DAOs (such as Nouns and its developments, as we mentioned in the last post).
🔶 Create your Metamask account
As we commented, we indicate Metamask as a cryptocurrency wallet for those who are starting or still don't have a wallet. The interface is straightforward to use!
For example, you will need a wallet to create your account and place your project on Giveth, as this is where you will receive crowdfunding donations. Mainly because your login to Giveth and project submission can only be done if you have a wallet; it is through it that you will log in and connect with the platform.
Suppose you still need a wallet and are already interested in putting your project on Giveth. In that case, we suggest you try registering there on the platform because it already "forces" you to create a wallet.

A Reunião da Comunidade Surflimpo acontece toda quarta-feira das 14 às 15h (Horário de Brasília / UTC-03:00) pelo Google Meet (acesse o link da reunião aqui) e são feitas em PT-BR. Todos estão convidados!

Na nossa última reunião, acendemos a chama da galera pra pensar em ideias e projetos para o próximo ano, mais especificamente em como conseguir verba para financiamento. Mas antes de apresentarmos nossos projetos para as DAOs, precisamos “migrar” para o mundo da web3 e começar a usar as ferramentas que todo mundo usa para “sermos vistos”. Hoje, falamos de ferramentas “obrigatórias” no mundo da web3 e da preparação e orientação para executarmos esses nossos projetos.

1. Ferramentas de comunicação na web3: Discord e Twitter
🔶 Discord
Discord é uma ferramenta de comunicação que funciona como um escritório virtual. Imagine que é uma aplicação de mensagens que pode ser dividida entre canais, tópicos e subtópicos com temas diferentes e onde podemos também fazer vídeo chamadas. Nossa ideia é começar a fazer nossos encontros por lá no próximo ano. Então já baixe o aplicativo no seu computador e telefone e comece a se ambientar. Já entre no Discord da SurfHive e comece a fazer trocas por lá.
Porque o Discord? Todas as DAOs estão no Discord e é onde conseguimos fazer um acompanhamento assíncrono de tudo o que está acontecendo dentro daquela comunidade. Ao mesmo tempo, como é possível dividir em canais, tópicos e subtópicos (ou threads), podemos tratar de assuntos específicos sem perder o fio da meada.

O Twitter é a “rede oficial” não-oficial da web3. Ele serve como um “micro blog” para comunicação em tempo real usado por milhões de pessoas e organizações. Da mesma forma que o Discord, todas as DAOs estão lá e usam “bots” que se comunicam e são integrados com o Discord e outras ferramentas, criando uma rede única.
Se ainda não tem uma conta no Twitter, faça uma e comece a se envolver e seguir e acompanhar as DAOs que já citamos aqui, e você vai ficar bem mais por dentro do mundo da Web3. É no Twitter que muitas organizações fazem anúncios de grants e “editais” para conseguir financiamento. É uma forma de ficar por dentro das comunidades e também de ser visto pela comunidade.
2. Ferramentas para a SurfHive: Drop, cRecy e Hive
Já falamos e explicamos essas três ferramentas aqui nesse post, vale a leitura se você ainda não entende muito sobre elas. Aqui apresentamos essas ferramentas nessa ordem, pois é uma das formas mais fáceis de ir se enturmando aqui na SurfHive.
É de extrema importância que você use e se ambiente como cada ferramenta antes de começar a explorar outra. Teste, use, tire dúvidas, e depois passe para a próxima. Comece com a DROP, e depois passe para a cRecy ou a Hive.
🔶 DROP
A DROP é a moeda social da comunidade Surflimpo, o projeto de impacto da SurfHive que remunera pessoas por participarem de ações de limpeza de praia, entre várias outras ações.
Entre na comunidade usando esse link de convite. E aqui nesse link você encontra um tutorial de como criar a sua conta na comunidade usando o webapp da @cambiatus2022.
Porque começar pela DROP? Essa é a interface mais fácil de usar. A DROP está baseada em uma blockchain, mas você definitivamente não precisa entender o que é uma blockchain para usá-la. Faça a sua conta, participe de alguma ação, reivindique seus DROPs e faça uma oferta no marketplace da comunidade.
🔶 cRecy
cRecy é o token da Detrash, organização que incentiva a reciclagem recompensando pessoas por separarem e destinarem corretamente o seu lixo e empresas por reciclarem o lixo.
Para participar, você deve criar uma conta no webapp da Detrash aqui. Cadastre-se como gerador de lixo ou reciclador (dependendo da sua atividade) e, sempre que for descartar seu lixo, submeta um formulário no app informando a quantidade de lixo que descartou e faça o upload de um vídeo mostrando que descartou corretamente seu lixo ou de uma nota fiscal ou comprovante de que seu lixo foi destinado corretamente (por exemplo, numa empresa de reciclagem ou projeto que faça a reciclagem de resíduos). Já falamos com mais detalhes sobre isso nesse post e você pode aprender mais na prática vendo esse vídeo.
Depois de um tempo, seu formulário passa por uma avaliação e você recebe seus tokens no webapp da Detrash. Esse tokens podem ser vendidos e você vai estar ganhando dinheiro por estar ajudando a limpar o mundo.
Para vender seus tokens, você precisa ter uma carteira de criptoativos e a gente indica a Metamask (ainda vamos falar sobre essa carteira mais tarde nesse post). Já baixa a Metamask no seu telefone e cria a sua conta. Integrar a carteira com o webapp da Detrashh pode ser um pouquinho difícil, mas se precisar de ajuda, fala com a gente no Discord.
🔶 Hive
A Hive é uma blockchain que tem uma rede social, onde postamos conteúdos e ganhamos por ele (temos um post bem completo sobre a Hive aqui, vem ler!). Essa rede social tem front-ends diferentes: o PeaKD para computador e o Ecency para celular. E como toda blockchain tem moedas e tokens, você precisa ter a carteira da Hive (Hive Keychain) para guardar os seus recursos, bem como facilitar o seu acesso a rede com o uso de senhas mais simples.
Pra quem tá chegando agora, siga esse passo-a-passo para fazer o onboarding na SurfHive e conseguir bons resultados:

- O Luiz vai fazer um tweet com seu post depois e te marcar, com a #Hive , esse é o último passo 🙃;
- Depois de receber as recompensas no seu post, comece a socializar na Hive, comentar e dar like em posts da SurfHive e outras comunidades. Tente fazer amizades, explorar outras comunidades de nicho, e criar o hábito de postar com frequência;
- A cada post que você fizer, compartilha em outras redes (Twitter, Discord, Instagram, grupos de Whatsapp) quanto mais pessoas você trouxer para a rede, mais os curadores curtem e também é mais gente pra votar no seu conteúdo 😊.
3. Am I ready to submit my project?
Calma, pequeno gafanhoto!
Falamos de todas essas ferramentas, porque elas são, realmente, muito importantes. Sabemos que temos ideias e projetos fantásticos, que merecem financiamento e que chamam a atenção. Mas nada disso adianta na web3 se você não é visto.
Afinal, quem não é visto, não é lembrado, como já disse Patrick Munzfeld.
Antes de pedir uma verba para financiamento do seu projeto em qualquer organização ou DAO, é importante que você engaje nas comunidades. Colabore, seja ativo, pergunte, participe das reuniões. Dê para receber: seja membro ativo da comunidade para depois colher os frutos.
E você vai fazer isso usando essas ferramentas: o Discord e o Twitter. Pode ser um salto muito grande pra quem tá acostumado só com Whatsapp, Instagram, Facebook e similares, mas acredite em mim, você precisa dar esse salto. Logo você se acostuma e vai ver que é um caminho sem volta!
Resumidamente, esse trabalho de engajamento requer dedicação, mas saiba que existem muitas oportunidades lá fora. Existe uma demanda muito grande para os tipos de projetos que a nossa comunidade SurfHive tem para oferecer.
Uma das coisas que facilita é começar a usar o Discord (já entra no Discord da SurfHive e começa a interagir lá). Isso facilita a entrada nas outras comunidades e plataformas que usam o Discord e faça com que a gente tenha mais agilidade na montagem dos projetos.
Engajar é um trabalho que leva um tempo, e é uma ótima forma de mostrar seu projeto para comunidade antes de, de fato, submetê-lo em alguma plataforma da web3, pois a comunidade pode e vai te ajudar a lapidá-lo e tomar forma. Então, para participar do processo de montar e defender sua proposta, comece a se engajar na comunidade e se envolver!
4. Onde submeter meu projeto?
Vamos sugerir por enquanto, uma plataforma de financiamento coletivo na Web3. Vamos só apresentar rapidamente pra você conhecer e ter ideia do que se trata e já falar porque você precisa de uma carteira de criptoativos (como a Metamask).
🔶 Giveth.io
Giveth é uma DAO e uma espécie de crowdfunding na web3 que qualquer pessoa pode criar e apresentar o seu projeto na plataforma para obter fundos. É uma boa forma de começar, com projetos pequenos, para começar a ser visto também.
Até na Giveth você precisa se envolver (antes e depois) pra otimizar o ganho, pois existe toda uma dinâmica por trás para você conseguir aumentar o alcance da arrecadação.

E se você já ta na pilha, entra também no Discord do Giveth e começa a se envolver por lá.
Estar com um projeto no Giveth também funciona como uma das portas de entrada par conseguir mais financiamentos em outras plataformas, pois você já ganhar uma credibilidade par conseguir grants nas outras DAOs (como na Nouns e seus desdobramentos, como comentamos no último post).
🔶 Crie sua conta na Metamask
Como comentamos, indicamos a Metamask como carteira de criptoativos para quem está começando ou ainda não tem uma carteira. A interface é bem simples de usar!
Você vai precisar de uma carteira para criar a sua conta e colocar o seu projeto no Giveth, por exemplo, pois é nessa carteira que você vai receber as doações do crowdfunding. Até porque o seu login no Giveth e a submissão do projeto só pode ser feito se você tem uma carteira, é através dela que você vai logar e se conectar com a plataforma.
Se você ainda não tem uma carteira e já tem interesse em colocar seu projeto no Giveth, sugerimos que você já tente se cadastrar lá na plataforma, poque já te “força” a criar uma carteira.
