[EN/PT-BR] April swells at Itacoatiara

In April, there were gnarly waves in Itacoatiara for both big riders and "regular" surfers. Two swells stood out a lot in the month, so I'll talk a little about them!

🌊 First and biggest swell of April

The first swell of the month came face first in the first week of the month. And it was one of those big ones, you know? There were only big riders in the water! The swell touched down on Sunday afternoon, the 2nd, about 3.5 meters high from the south, with a period of 14 seconds, and lost strength over the days.

Monday was the biggest and also the best day of the swell for the big riders, not only because of the height of the waves but also because of the offshore wind that "adjusted" and aligned the waves reaching the coast.

The other two days, Tuesday and Wednesday (4th and 5th), were a little more inviting, and we had a surf show with both shortboards and bodyboarders, bringing more people to the water.

🌊 Second April swell

This second swell touched down in the third week of the month, and this time, it touched down with less force, but the swell arriving at the beach was coming from the southwest quadrant, providing good waves on Pampo.

The following days continued with good waves, between 1.5 and 2 meters high and with a high period, around 13-14 seconds. But now, with the direction of the swell turning to south, we had great waves at Costão.

The important factor again was the offshore wind, to the delight of the surfers, blowing every day of the week in the morning.

Abril foi um mês em que rolaram altas ondas em Itacoatiara, tanto para big riders quanto para os "maroleiros" de plantão. Dois swells se destacaram muito no mês, por isso vou falar um pouco deles!

Mas antes, se quiser entender um pouco como funciona a entrada de ondulação na praia de Itacoatiara, sugiro dar uma olhada no meu ultimo post aqui.

🌊 Primeiro e maior swell de abril

O primeiro swell do mês veio de cara na primeira semana do mês. E foi um daqueles grandes, sabe? Só teve big rider na água! A ondulação encostou no domingo a tarde, dia 02, com cerca de 3,5 metros de altura de sul com 14 segundos de período e foi perdendo força ao longo dos dias.

A segunda-feira foi o maior e também o melhor dia do swell para os big riders, não só pela altura da ondulação, mas também pelo vento terral que deu uma "ajustada" e alinhada na ondulação chegando na costa.

Os outros dois dias, terça e quarta (dias 04 e 05) ficaram um pouco mais convidativos e tivemos um show de surf tanto de pranchinha quanto de bodyboarders, trazendo mais gente pra água.

🌊 Segundo swell de abril

Esse segundo swell encostou na terceira semana do mês e dessa vez encostou com menos força, mas a ondulação chegando na praia vinha do quadrante sudoeste, proporcionando boas ondas no pampo.

Os dias que seguiram continuaram com boas ondas, entre 1,5 e 2 metros de altura e com período alto, na casa dos 13-14 segundos. Mas agora com a direção um pouco mais de sul, tivemos altas ondas no costão.

O fator importante novamento foi o vento terral, para alegria dos surfistas, soprando em todos os dias da semana pela manhã.
