Thanksgiving Season is on the horizon for many in the world, and the later part of November has begun to be synonymous globally with a general time of Giving Thanks. Whether it's for a harvest successfully gathered ready for the winter ahead, thanks for monsoonal floods finally abating across most of Asia, or simply Giving Thanks that the festive holiday season is coming up fast.
This month our Herbal Hive Posting Challenge is asking you to GIVE THANKS for just ONE herb that has made a difference to your personal life.

Oh I'm going to go for chamomile. It's so hard to choose but it's such a lovely soothing flower that is like an old friend. It mellows out bitter herbs like hops in teas, can be added to baths, good for my headaches when I need to relax and is so safe and lovely even for kids. It's kinda always in the background of my life, even when I don't use it for months or take it for granted. There's a million herbs I am grateful for but this one was the first that popped into my heart so I have to honour that!!!
A really classic choice, and we KNOW that classics become exactly that for a reason. Really looking forward to your post! x
I'll prob choose a different herb for the challenge! I can never settle on one thing... Post coming Sunday x
That intuitive "knee jerk" first thought is a good one!
Yum, chamomile! I haven't been able to harvest that from the wild here, but thank you for the reminder to acquire some: I could use a serious chamomile bath right now!
I'm going to have one tonight now I have thought of it!
How I missed this announcement just read about @anggreklestari's post and found here is some challenge. You are not an admin now for @theherbalhive? greetings❤️😊
Hey @hindavi I was so busy! I will help @artemislives if she needs it and support it whole heartedly. But it's in VERY capable hands now!
Thanks for your reply I will see if it is possible for me to write something. take care❤️😊
A great challenge. I'll whip up something about Epilobium soon, though I'll have to pinch some pics from somewhere.
Looking forward to learning from you! Pinching pics is what it is, and we all need to do it rather often. As long as they're clearly attributed and from relatively open source and not "stolen", it's all good.
I do love the way the communities enable us to learn widely and differently.
I've always prided myself on my blog pics being original and taken and edited by myself.Compromise is an important skill to master, of course!
Hearing you @ligayagardener ...but also aware that we may sometimes unknowingly intimidate others from posting who may currently, for one reason or another, not have the luxury to prance around in a big happy garden snapping their own photos.
@merit.ahama - your comment below was a GOOD one and made me think of many people who may have had a garden or herbs before in their life and now don't, of people in hospitals or travelling, people who have downsized to an apartment, or who want to post about a herb that's currently dormant. Or people who may simply struggle taking pictures or not have a very good phone. Blog pics borrowed from elsewhere doesn't necessarily detract from originality.
I think a creative post with accredited pics can be FINE. 😍
I totally get your point and I appreciate you coming through to make it clear
I look forward to joining the challenge 😊
Thanks for that but I won't be entering that herb in the challenge. I may come up with something else though as I think about it.
I lii forward to seeing your entry along with all tHe others.
I understand
Just have fun with whatever you decide 😊
Interesting view. Prancing about the garden isn't really the case. My pics are taken during the course of my day raising food, for myself, my family and community members. It's hardly a prance but a lifestyle choice that I was forced to make but now benefit from.
Everything I post (except for reblogs) is really things that exist and have happened in my garden or community and is posted to inspire people doing it tough to do the same thing if they want to. It's all seasonal and subjecttoo and and that has made me reconsider posting about the Epilobium because I don't have any to photograph. Authenticity is paramount.
Good afternoon, here I leave my participation:

I love this challenge, @theherbalhive ! It's fab already seeing others' choices... cannot wait to delve into all of them! Thankyou sincerely for tagging me and involving me - I'm on an emotional rollercoaster right now with major clearout after insect infestation problems in my big house, and am grateful for community to keep up my spirits. 🙏🥰💖
My most favourite herb is quite hard to single out, but the most powerful/ useful/ healing/ delicious/ spirit-lifting woukd have to be...
oregano/ origano
Closely followed by turmeric/ curcuma , lavender/ lavanda and sage/ salvia, and nettles/ ortiche! And marigolds/ calendula... etc, etc 😍🥰🙏🙏🙏🙏 I look foward very much to particpating - and willbe doing a linger post on dis-infestation of the house from biting things, very soon - just finally got hold of some diatomaceous earth!! xx
Haha you are like me .. ALL THE HERBS.
I really am going to have to try to do this. Hard pressed to choose. I
feelfear a rambling "Fiona treatment" might ensue...🤣Ciao @theherbalhive ! Here is my response to this challenge: https://peakd.com/hive-141827/@clareartista/giving-thanks-challenge-rose
Wow! this is a good challenge. Hoping I can participate on this. Until when this challenge will end?
I really appreciated reading everyone's contributions to this challenge, and the threads below... Sometimes reading a few thoughtful, heartfelt sentences can be such a tonic if we're 'under the weather'... Thank you all xx
Hello,🙏 here is my entry.
https://ecency.com/hive-141827/@hindavi/thanks-for-hibiscus-the-herbal
Black Cohosh Root got me through menopause without 1 hot flash. I would drink an infusion of 32 oz per week. I knew I had had the right amount when I got a headache from it - so that was probably too much, and may have caused Liver Damage - but at the time I had no idea what I was doing... but it has kept my uterine wall strong and kept me from experiencing hormonal imbalance during "the change".
I know I am not following the directions - and that's because I don't have time to do so, just wanted to share my amazing experience with this herb.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh Herbal Hive is back.... You made my day, what a thrill ❤️. And this challenge is really hard. The chamomile, eucalyptus mint.... I honestly don't know... How hard...
Muy buenas participaciones, aquí comparto la mía, es una planta que me acompañó toda la vida
