Hello the Herbal Hive! How was your day?
What do you usually do for yourself after a long working day?
For me, I’m happy to sit on a couch, sipping a cup of tea and listen to my favorite music list. That’s enough for a long day. I can not hold the excitement to share with you my favorite kind of tea - jasmine tea. Especially I grown it and handmade the tea on my own.
There are 2 ways to enjoy the taste of jasmine tea. The first one is primarily a base tea (like green tea, or you can even use black tea or white tea) that is scented with jasmine flowers. The jasmine blossom brings a slightly sweet taste and fragrance. And the second way is using jasmine flowers as a kind of tea. I made it follow this way.
Jasmine flowers bloom once a year, in the later summer when the weather is hot and dry. I planted 2 small jasmine bushes from last spring, in the next summer I start to harvest flowers. In the process of harvesting the flowers, I can see that the best moment to pick them up is at noon when the temperature hits the highest of the day, the bud remains closed and when it’s cooler in the afternoon, they will bloom. So the scenting process is the best when it’s done like this.
I use a small food dryer to dry the flowers after harvesting. Because the heat of the dryer wasn’t consistent so that I sometimes failed. But finally I got what I was looking for. You can see in the photos, even the color of dry flowers is not the same but they were at the same dry level.
How can jasmine tea benefit your health?
First, the taste of jasmine tea is subtle sweet and the aroma brings with it help to soothe the soul, reduce stress and fatigue. The scent of jasmine blossom encourages the body to relax and the mind to slow down which works to repel the symptoms of depression. The sweet aroma of jasmine tea is not only good for your mental health, but it's also been shown to help you sleep better.
Second jasmine has a high antioxidant capacity, which helps you eliminate free radicals in the body. Therefore, drinking this tea every day can prevent premature aging, especially on the skin. In addition, compounds in tea also support acne treatment by balancing hormone levels in the body.
This is all the information I have for now about the jasmine tea. Hope it is helpful for you. Thank you for reading my post up till here. See you in my next post.
Lovely post😍 I loved to see the process in each picture from the plant until the final result ''the tea''
hihi, I just made "the tea" for looking, not for drinking :)
