Luis Miguel estuvo muy involucrado en la composición de las canciones en este disco que en trabajos anteriores y fue asistido por compositores como Arturo Pérez, Armando Manzanero y Juan Carlos Calderón. A diferencia de sus colegas contemporáneos como Ricky Martin y Enrique Iglesias, quienes se fusionaron al mercado de habla inglesa, él prefirió cantar y grabar en español en ese momento".
