Going Home On foot with my kids

One lovely day, I had a wonderful walking adventure with these two wonderful children going home.

Hello Hivers! How are you all? I hope you are doing well and happy. As for me, I am well and I am choosing to stay optimistic as I can. For today's blog, I am going to share with you our shared wonderful moments.

I work 8 hours a day, and render over time work on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays thus I don't have mich time spent with my kids. Honestly sometimes, I don't know how to deal witth them but nevertheless , I love them with all of my heart.

Back in Saturday, After I posted about my mum got hurt, I decided to spend work till noon so I could help her in the farm. Thus I did so and we spent the night on the farm so we could go to work early in the morning when the sun is still not that cruel.

We used sacks framed with cassava stalks to block the sun's cruel heat while we chop the cassava but still allowing fresh air to pass by.

We did not finish our work that day, there were too many cassava and the tarp and screen that we would use to dry and cover them from the rain at night was lacking.

But in the afternoon, we had to ho home so my kids could go to school on the following Monday. My mum went home with us and since she was still injured, I chose to walk towards the highway so she and my eldest daughter could go home riding my husband's motorcycle.

My younger kids chose to go with me, wanting to spend time with me. So off we went, we did not have much things to carry and so I let my phone out and snapped along the way.

But as soon as my son realised that we are going on foot to the bridge, my son complained a bit but we could do anything since his father is already gone so we enjoyed instead.

Looking at the side of the empty road, we saw a brown cattle owned by my cousin. My kids thought the cattle's name was moo moo, but they concluded it was not.

The road had muddy puddles, that's something my kids learnt form the show peppa pig and we used that term since then. It was an amazing show which I and my husband enjoyed also.

My kids has small steps so I walked slowly so they could keep up. Then we passed by a house that has two dogs who barked when we passed by, probably protecting their humans and the two pigs who are on their area. I wished I could grow pigs too but our area at home, is never fit since our neighbours will be mad if they smell pigs.

Soon we passed by on two houses, one an old house, the people who used to live here were already gone to other place and a new house whose owner also owns this vast corn field. The corn was still small, but soon, it will grow fast and bear corn ears!

The people we passed by looked very curios about us, they don't see me pass by often but one man was familiar on the group and just smiled at him.

We continued to walk and passed by a crossing road. The straight path goes to where my grandma's rice field was back then and soon she turned it to a rose plantation. We turned right, as it is where our destination goes and marvelled on the spectacular view of the mountains from afar.

Now there as a bungalow built and I wondered who might be living on it.

The above field is owned by my uncle, it was empty at the moment and showed the magnificent Mount Pulog at the horizon.

There were bushes and trees that grows wildly along the road so we stop by and snap whenever we see flowers worth snapping

I found these beautiful yellow flower so small, and only appreciated its full wonder after I zoomed in.

I felt sorry for this purple flower, it was eaten by insects bit still bloomed despite the challenge it faced

Then we passed by on a jackfruit tree which had lots of fruit, I tried taking pictures but also got its silhouette captured!

Since my uncle's area was still not planted, cattles were tied to the area to feed on grass. This one is the nearest to us

As we continued walking, my husband called letting me know he already arrived home and on his way to fetch us on the highway so we hurried but this Dinog tree caught my attention after seeing some of its branches on the ground. I doubred it at first but after asking my husband later, he confirmed it was the dinog tree Antidesma bunius

My father once said that if this fruit is bearing fruit, there will be no rain but the opposite happened since it was raining almost everyday since the last days of December 2024. Perhaps it was one of the effects of climate change and global warming.

Finally we arrived to the descent and the kids were running showing off toe that they are big and knows the path well but after sometime, they listened to be very careful so they won't get hurt.

The last part of the walk was the bridge, it used to be hanging but after mamy floods that happened the bridge's foundation was digged by the flood making ithe bridge sit at the river. Everytime my mum ad my kids pass through this route, I always pray for rheir safety especially on this part. I fear that if the flood will be too strong, it would wash the bridge away, or thr rain might make the bridge wet and slippery that they will slide to the river if they pass through, God forbid it to happen.

Then we ascend to a narrow stair, my husband was already there waiting for us. And these amazing handiworks greeted us there.

Bamboo houses are built to be sold, there were many of them, strategically made beside the road to display and advertise to the passerbys and attract attention.

Interested buyers stops and asks the builders and thye sell the bamboo houses from 30,000 pesos to over 100,000 pesos depending on the design and materials used.

The walk took us about 20 minutes including picture takings but it was very wonderful.on the highway, my sick aunt's house was near, I tried to pay a visit but I guess she was asleep so we went home straight ahead.

This amazing wlak gave me opportunity for photography, family bonding as well as a good exercise which I really needed

This closes my #wednesdaywalk, I hope you enjoy my blog as I took you virtually with me. Thanks for your attention, time and support! Keep safe and stay happy!

Warm regards,
Yoi❤️
