Welcome back to my new blog. How is it going guys? Is everything OK? I hope everything is fine. Actually, I want to post a new post on ASEAN Hive every day, but my laptop battery is dead, so I can only use my laptop when there is electricity. Even though I thought about replacing my laptop battery, the city where I live is very scarce because of the political situation, and new electronics are rare in the city. Today, I will tell you about a traditional clothing shop that I went to with my teacher. Let's get started.
Karen dress with me
Next Friday, there is a Education Plenary festival at the school where I work. Some of my students also had a dance performance at the event. They chose to dance the traditional Karen dance. So for them, my teacher and I visited a traditional cloth shop in town today. That traditional clothing store is quite far from our school, so it takes about 10 minutes to get there by motorbike.
Normally, this shop usually has a perfect selection of dress for all ethnic groups in Myanmar. However, these days there are educational gatherings all over the city, so this shop doesn't have ethnic dress either. The picture I show above is some of the traditional jackets found outside the shop. The pink one is a Karen women's dress, and the red one is a Chin women's dress.
The necklace I mentioned above is a traditional Chin necklace. The necklace is mainly depicted in red, green, yellow, white, and black colors and is similar to the color of the Chin sarong.

The jacket shown above is a Karen women's dress.
At first, in my imagination, I went to that store to buy Karen dresses for my 16 students. However, when I went to that store, I bought a Karen dress for myself. The Karen dress I bought is the pink Karen dress in front of the store. The picture and video of me wearing a Karen dress are listed above.
The Karen dress I bought even had a floral design with pom poms.
