Life Goes On in This Water World

in ASEAN HIVE COMMUNITY3 days ago

Sometimes people see my posts and think everything is fine here at home, but the truth is; our life is not always easy. These past months, we still deal with floods inside our house. Even when the rain already stopped, the water still stays, like it doesn’t want to leave us. I guess it's already part of our daily routine, but still, no one really gets used to living like this.

When the water rises, we lift everything we can. The kids will do their school work on top of the bed or on a table that we manage to save. It’s funny in a way, how we try to continue our normal life even when our feet are underwater. I always remind them, “Just keep going, anak… the world doesn’t stop because of a flood.” And somehow, we manage to survive.

Our roof also has holes already, so when it rains, it’s like we have our own indoor drizzle. Sometimes we put basins everywhere, sometimes we just let it fall because we’re already used to it, even it annoying to see our things getting wet. But even with all that, we still talk, we still joke, we still laugh as a family. Maybe that’s what keeps us strong even sometimes I already wanted to give up.

What I really want to show with these photos is not sadness, but reality. This is our life, and even if it’s not perfect, we still move forward. We learn to adjust, to be patient, and to find small reasons to smile. My kids still study, still help, still dream… and that’s what matters to me the most.

I know many families out there face harder things too. So I’m not here to complain. I just want to share a piece of our everyday life, be an inspiration somehow. Hoping that maybe someone out there can relate. Life isn’t always smooth, but as long as we stay together, I believe we can get through anything. And we’re still hoping for better days ahead.

Thank you for reading

This is way very troublesome. Your house must be like second floor. Back then 20 years ago our house is prone to flood too so my father built our house today started in the second floor so we are always ready for a rainy day

I salute you. Even with everything you’re going through, your positivity is truly admirable. I pray that everything will get better for you and your family.
