Slow life !!

in ASEAN HIVE COMMUNITY4 months ago

Hello everyone,

It’s been almost a month since I last logged into the community. Well, it’s not that I went missing — I’ve just been back home, living a slower life in my hometown. It’s a usual thing for a nomad like me to renew my visa after being away for quite some time.

How are you all doing? I feel like I’ve missed a lot while I was away, and I guess it’s time to catch up on what’s been happening here. Anyway, I hope everyone is having a wonderful time and enjoying life as always.

DAILY ROUTINE

Today feels just like another ordinary day in life — nothing too fancy happening here in my hometown. It’s the same old vibes I’ve always known. The internet isn’t that great here, which makes me feel less interested in getting involved with things related to the outside world. Honestly, I don’t even know what’s happening globally right now since we don’t actually have a television at home.

Like I mentioned before when I was staying in Singapore, I really missed cooking — and that was the very first thing I did when I got back here. I cooked a nice dinner for my big family, just like I usually do. Of course, not all the time, because I also miss my mom’s cooking (who doesn’t, right?). Living this slow-paced life, I don’t even feel like taking photos of what I cook, unlike when I’m away. And honestly, it feels good to just enjoy the moment without documenting it. Maybe from now on, I’ll start writing about some of the food I cook here.

My daily routine now includes picking up my nephew after school finishes at noon. The school isn’t very far — just about a 5-minute drive without traffic. Usually, I arrive about 10 minutes earlier and wait at the gate so he doesn’t have to wait too long for me. The real challenge is getting out of the school area because of all the cars around, which makes it slower compared to when I arrive. Again, I didn’t take any photos of this. LOL. Okay, maybe I’ll take some later.

Once we’re back home, I make sure he has his lunch, takes a shower, and then has time to play before going to sleep at 3 PM. Since he has to wake up as early as 5 AM, that afternoon nap is a must for him. Honestly, it’s something I never knew before, and I’m glad I learned it.

TAKING PHOTO AND VIDEO

In the evening, I usually go to my brother’s café. He’s a really good barista — you might remember him since I’ve mentioned him a few times here before. His small café offers a wide variety of coffee, and lately I discovered matcha (that popular green tea) which I had never known about before. That’s also the only time I really use my phone, because I help him take photos and videos to create content for his café’s TikTok. And of course, as his brother, I get to enjoy free, great coffee there.

Besides helping him with videos and other stuff, I’ve also been learning a lot about making good beverages — especially coffee and matcha. There’s so much to learn, and it feels almost like cooking, because every gram, drip, and temperature really counts.

I’ve never experienced such a slow pace of life before, and I’m truly glad to be home. It reminds me to slow down and just be alive in the moment. You should try it too — take a good vacation after a busy life and let yourself breathe.

Thanks for reading, and see you again tomorrow!

It's really nice to disconnect from the outside world from time to time. It helps you recharge and appreciate the small things you often overlook in the busy world. I'd love to have a relaxing vacation somewhere with plenty of green spaces someday! :D

Thank you so much... ^^

I feel like we’re always in such a rush with school, social media, and everything going on, so reading your routine makes me realize how nice it must be to just slow down. I love how you enjoy the simple things, like cooking for family and spending time with your nephew.

It's so great to hear you're enjoying a slower life and being present in the moment 💖 That routine with your nephew sounds really sweet 💕 It's awesome that you're learning to be a barista too 😊 Sometimes those simple moments at home are the most rewarding 🙌
