RE: A Day In Family GIFs 🏸My Apsara Air Freshener, Mango Fire, Badminton Skills, & More👃

What a beautiful and rich culture 😍. I should really learn the meaning of the poses and hand gestures.

There are obvious Javanese and Indian influences, both countries that played major roles in Cambodia's historical cultural influence.

Fun fact: Javanese culture also has some hinduism and buddhism influences. I've seen the Javanese serimpi dancers play some scenes from the Ramayan.

I used to know all that stuff years ago when I was really into learning the cultural stuff here. It has to do with planting and harvesting rice, the basic and most repeated hand gesture. I really love the Balinese dancing too, a lot of fast twitching type movements and some really scary headgear.

Ah there was someone in my local area who was specialized in Balinese dancing, but don't know if she still teaches that style.

Oh thank you for sharing that. I like to know facts, especially about art and culture. 😁

Surprising there is Balinese dancing there, definitely worth seeing if you ever get the chance.

So, there are or were a lot of scholarships from India and Indonesia - especially in artforms - so quite a few people in the art world have studied different forms on those scholarships. I suppose the lady also learned that style from one of those programs.
