Trip to Switzerland (Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe)

My last entry was regarding my trip to Zurich for the 3-day training. Upon the completion of our training, we did not delay and went to the train station to purchase a ticket heading to Interlaken.

The ticket was priced at CHF50 and it took us around 1 hour and 30 minutes to travel from Zurich to Interlaken using the train. Along the way, we passed the country and the mountainside. I can assure you that the view was breathtaking.

The plan is to stay for two days at a boutique hotel in Interlaken and then travel via train to Jungfraujoch on the first day and to Grindelwald on the second day. When we arrived at Interlaken station, we had our lunch at the restaurant nearby to the station.

After that, we walked from Interlaken station to the boutique hotel. The main reason we went to the hotel was to securely store our luggage at the hotel or the hotel reception area.

Thankfully, the hotel allowed us to do an early check-in. Once we made our deposit payment, the receptionist provided us with the room key card. After checking in into our room, we then walked back to Interlaken station.

We purchased a ticket to Grindelwald Station at the station, which was priced at CHF13.

From Interlaken to Grindelwald, it took us around 30 minutes to travel via the train. From Grindelwald station, we purchased the ticket for Eiger Express, a gondola that climbs toward the Jungfraujoch train station.

However, we need to queue for around 45 minutes before we are allowed to get onto the Eiger Express. Coincidentally, it was a public holiday in Switzerland, thus making the queue even longer than it is normally.

Upon embarking on the Eiger Express, it is another 15 minutes before you reach Jungfraujoch, also known as the Top of Europe. When we arrived at the Jungfrauhjoch, we felt the long waiting time was worth it. The view from the top of Europe was so mesmerizing.
