Lunch at Ikea Damansara

This weekend, I finally had some time off after a busy month. I remember my promise to my wife and took her and the kids to Ikea Damansara for lunch. Last weekend, she mentioned wanting to have Ikea's famous meatballs, but my schedule just didn’t allow for it.

We went out to Ikea around 2.30 pm. I purposely wanted to reach Ikea after the lunch hour. Typically, it is too crowded during the peak hour. Finding a table will be a challenge during that time.

Surprisingly, today traffic was ok and luck must have been on our side because finding a parking spot didn’t take long, which is a rare case at Ikea. From the parking area, we headed straight to the food court.

As soon as we walked into the food court, I spotted a family just finishing up their meal and they were preparing to leave the table. I approached them and let them know that I could clear the table so that I could have their spot.

They agreed, and after clearing the table, I asked the kids to stay put. Then my wife and I joined the queue to grab our lunch.

The line was not that long and moved steadily. Within about 15 minutes, we had our selection in the tray. We chose a plate of chicken wings, meatballs, sausages, one bowl of mushroom soup, garlic bread, a kids' meal, and one slice of chocolate cake. After making the payment, we returned to the table and enjoyed our lunch

The total cost for our meal was MYR85, and I also paid an additional MYR10 for free-flow drinks. Overall, it was a typical Ikea meal. But for me, the chance to spend quality time with my family made every bit of it worth it.
