I was at one of my office branch in Putrajaya for a few days last week. The reason I was there is because, I need to have a series of discussion with the developer team and the business analyst team regarding the proposal that I am currently working on.
During lunch hour, I and three of my colleague goes to Umai Café that is located just next to Putrajaya lake and the famous Millennium monument. The weather at Putrajaya for the past few days was scorching hot. So we drive there, even though it is just a 5 minutes walking distance
Millennium Monument is a national monument in Putrajaya, Malaysia which is analogous to the Washington Monument in Washington DC, United States. It was the second national monument to be built in Putrajaya after Putrajaya Landmark: Wikipedia Link
We stayed at Umai Cafe for almost a hour and a half mainly because we had our lunch while chatting. Approximately around 2.30PM, we made our move back to office.
While on our way to office, my colleague said that he wanted to stop by at a Cendol stall. The cendol sold at that stall is delicious because it is using palm milk instead of coconut milk.
Cendol is an iced sweet dessert that contains droplets of green rice flour jelly, coconut milk and palm sugar syrup. It is commonly found in Southeast Asia and is popular in Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Cambodia, East Timor, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, and Myanmar. Wikipedia Link
I've heard of cendol made using palm milk, but I haven't got the chance to try it myself. So I hop out of the car, and follow my colleague to the cendol stall. The cendol stall name were "Cendol Hok Alok!". I honestly don't know what Hok Aloh stand for. As far as I know, it is a dialect from Kelantan or Terengganu.
There were two size for the cendol. Regular or Large. I order a large cendol, which cost me 2USD. The regular size is priced at 1.2USD. When I was at the cendol stall, there were four other customers.
However we waited only for a few minutes then our ordered was prepared. I took few photograph of the preparation process.
Once gotten my cendol, I straight away take a sip. The taste is almost similar to coconut milk, but with less oily / creamy taste. A bit bitter according to my taste bud. Overall, it taste better compared to coconut milk. The price is also cheaper 😁
This one looks like Halo-halo in the Philippines, but instead of coconut milk we use evaporated milk here. One of my favorite desserts during summertime. !PIZZA

That is a huge portion of cendol.
I might can't finish it in one go, as I want to get the sweet taste again and again. lol
What are the brown seeds in on the cendol, are they kind of nut, In indonesia, cendol is usually added with slices jackfruit.
Mouth watering to see your cendol pictures. I think it will be really tasty. It is more interesting with palm milk.
