Vegetable planting activity with daughter

in ASEAN HIVE COMMUNITY2 days ago

Hello everyone

Today I will plant the vegetables that the village headman gave me after I attended a meeting.
But before planting, I have to go to the market first.
To buy soil and fertilizer.
I went to the market in the afternoon. I took my wife to buy some things in the market and bought some coconut husks to use as animal feed. Then we continued on to buy animal feed.

When I arrived at the pet food store, I bought a bag of fish food, a bag of chicken food, 2 kilograms of cat food, and 1 kilogram of dog food. But I don't raise dogs at home. I bought dog food to feed to the dogs on the side of the road when I go jogging with my wife. Those dogs have become a part of me now.
And I bought liquid cat food. And I took a picture.
Today, the cost of pet food was more than 900 baht. Then I drove to the main road in the city.
I drove to the plant market.

Today the weather is good, including the atmosphere on the road. There are few cars, making driving comfortable. When arriving at the Or Tor Kor market, this plant market sells everything. There are ornamental flowers, fertilizers, straw, wild plants, everything is available. I have been here many times and usually buy plants and vegetables here.
But today I already have vegetable plants, so I stopped to buy soil here. The soil here is sold in 5 bags for 100 baht. In exchange for fertilizer, each bag is 40 and 50 baht. There are also individual bags for sale.
I stopped at the vegetable shop first. I parked the car and ordered 10 bags of soil. I glanced over and saw a fairly large pot, suitable for planting chili and eggplant plants, that the village headman had given me. I asked the price. One pot costs 25 baht, depending on the size. The large ones cost 50 to 100 baht, the plastic ones, as I wrote. I stood there thinking for a while. I calculated how many pots I needed and how much money I needed to buy the pots. After thinking for a while, I came to the conclusion that I would go back to find leftovers at home to use as pots. In this planting, because I calculated the price of the pot, the price was quite high (it's better to save money). So I bought 10 bags of soil and then traveled back home. When I arrived at the white house, I loaded the stuff onto the tricycle to transport to the house in the garden. Today, the tricycle was full of stuff, all in sacks.

When I arrived at the house in the garden, I walked around the house looking for leftover containers to use as pots to grow these vegetables. Today I got some leftover pots from growing trees and some leftover basins and cement buckets. When I got enough containers, the clock rang. It was time to pick up my daughter.

I drove to pick up my daughter from school.
When I met my daughter, I told her that today I had a fun activity to do with her.
When my daughter heard this, she was excited. She turned to ask me what the activity was. I quickly told her that this evening we were planting vegetables together.
When we arrived home, she quickly changed her clothes and came to help me. My daughter took the picture for me.
Start by mixing the soil you bought with animal manure and fertilizer. Mix them together and then put the mixed soil in a pot or a leftover container. Use your hands to dig a hole in the center. Then use a knife to cut open the black bag from the chili plant. Place the chili plant in the hole and cover it with soil. Then water it. The method for planting chili and eggplant is easy. All you need is soil, fertilizer, and a container for planting. The rest is to take care of it, water it, loosen the soil, and take care of weeds. Don't let them bother you.

The "cement bucket" container is quite thick. I had to use something hard, such as a knife, to help make holes in the bottom of the bucket so that water could drain. When I planted the plants, the water would not be stagnant because it was a leftover container.
Today's vegetable planting activity, my daughter and I had a lot of fun because she is an observant person and often wonders about things she doesn't know. I had to answer her questions all the time after I did it, such as why we need a roof for the first time by using clear plastic. I had to answer my daughter's questions because it is used to block the light because some vegetables cannot receive full sunlight. There were many other questions for my daughter. Her curiosity gave her more knowledge.
When I planted until it was almost finished, I called my daughter to take pictures for me. While she was taking pictures of roses that were not far from me, in front of my house, she also walked around taking pictures of trees and vegetables in that area like an artist. "My daughter" took pictures of the plants she wanted and when she finished, she came to take pictures for me. So I told her if she wanted to plant any trees. There was one more type that she hadn't planted yet, which was rice seeds.
"Royal rice seeds" (given to me by a relative)
Before planting, I soaked the rice seeds since this morning. They should be ready to be planted now. I think it would be better to just get the rice seeds before planting them than to plant them right away. Soaking the rice seeds makes them swell and expand, which makes the shoots likely to emerge faster.

My daughter and I brought the rice seeds and planted them in a container using the mixed soil, then filled it with water. Then I had my daughter put the rice seeds in the prepared container. That's it!
I asked my daughter what the next step was. She said that she had to water them after she finished.
My daughter went to get the hose to water them. That's it! I'm done planting the vegetables in the garden. Please wait and see how these vegetables grow.
