In the last photo, the turtle design instantly reminded me of the Nintendo "Yakuman" mahjong set, in which the 1-of-coins tile has a Nintendo turtle inside a coin motif:

Interesting. I've heard of The Rock but didn't know that his tattoos were Polynesian, or even that he has a connection with Samoa through his mother [Wikipedia].
Now I'm wondering whether the designer of the turtle logo for Nintendo was influenced by Polynesian tattoos.
