Hi my friends, good morning, it is another Sunday morning. While I was visiting Marudi, this was one of the must visit places that I went to check out. This is one of those places that is worth a visit once in our life.

Fort Hose

Built in 1898, more than a hundred years old during the time when Sarawak was recognised as a sovereign state. The fort oversees rebel activities during that time but currently, it is a musuem. There are lots of artifacts here in this musuem that dates back at least half a century.

No entrancd fee required. The only thing you need to do is to sign your name in the visitors log book at the main entrance.

The largest Sape of Malaysia

I am not sure if anyone os able to play with it. Maybe a lot of people required to play music with that sape.

The entrance to the fort. White in colour and still well maintained. It is also home to the largest Sape, a traditional musical instrument of the tribes of Sarawak.

This building still looks in good condition because it has constantly been rennovated.

The main car park area. This town is quiet and doesn’t see a lot of tourist but that is the beauty of such places. Hidden gems in Sarawak.

Just to show you how big this Sape is, you can compare it to my wife in scale. That is one big musical instrument.
