I belonged to Group 3. We were asked to show the audience a situation in which a pupil didn't know how to read and write. We were going to show how he became a problem in the community. We have no boys in our group so 1 girl acting like a boy. My role was a teacher to a boy who didn't know how to read and write, I tried to coach him but he wasn't interested at all. It happened that I went to the comfort room and the boy grabbed the opportunity. He went outside to go somewhere. He smoked in an area where smoking was prohibited. Since he didn't know how to read he violated the rule. He was addicted to drugs and became a troublemaker. He was one of the problems in the community.

We need to write in the meta cards the factors that hinder pupils' learning, factors that help, and the support needed.
Photos Taken by One of My Co-school Heads
We were able to post our outputs by sharing our ideas. I was assigned to discuss our answers. Our contributed answers for the factors that hindered pupils' learning were; absences, health conditions, home chores, and family factors. The factors that helped were; rewards and incentives, feeding supplies, and follow-up by parents and teachers. We asked for support from
our partners from different agencies like the Department of Health, LGU, DSWD, Parents, and other stakeholders.
All the groups were able to present their outputs. The majority of the group had almost the same answers. The host asked the Department heads for their comments and suggestions. They promised to support our learners as long as they could provide them.

Video Clip
A Video Clip with a Lesson to Ponder
The boy in the story tried to remove the log that hindered his way. He tried and tried but he couldn't do it alone. Until such there were street children saw him, they tried to help him but still they couldn't remove the log. Thanks to God, passers-by saw them, and they offered their help. At long last, the log was successfully removed. The boy was so happy. How grateful he was for the helpful people around him.
***The boy in the story is like our school children who need our help. The teacher or the principal cannot do it alone without the help of other stakeholders. We need partners to build children's future. Let's work together for a better future for our children, and for the improvement of our school, community, and to our country as well.
