Here in the Philippines, Fiesta is our renowned tradition. It is a joyous celebration mostly in barangay, town, and province. It is usually held to honor our Patron Saint, endorse the products in our community, or recall
our customs and traditions. Filipinos are known for being hospitable. If there's a celebration like Fiesta, they try their best to prepare something to offer to their guests, especially for their food. Lechon or roasted pig is usually the main dish that could be offered. Celebrating Fiesta is also the best time to reunite relatives and friends.

Our Preparation for Fiesta

Our Annual Fiesta Celebration is held every last Saturday of October in honor of our beloved Patron Saint, "Mother of Perpetual Help". So,(three)3 weeks before I made some preparations. I planned to repaint our house, fence, and gate since the paint has faded already. Besides, I would like to change the color of the paint.

Our house was painted yellow but for now, we are repainting it in pink color because I love also pink. The color of our fence was yellow but it is repainted now with green color and with a post of yellow paint.. It took one week to accomplish the repainting.

Preparation for Food
Of course, the most important thing to prepare for the celebration is the food for the guests coming to that event. One week before I and my sister planned to cater our food from "Capitancillo Cafe & Restaurant and Catering Services".It is located in Bogo City, Cebu beside Gaisano Bogo

I chose Package B, a minimum of 50 pax for Php 310.00. It cost Php 15,500.00. Delivery of food is Php 700.00 but we were given a discount from Php 700.00 it lower to Php 500.00 since my sister also contacted them for a cater. We have to pay the same amount of Php 16,00.00 but we chose a different menu. The staff of the restaurant were asking us to select the dishes, we wanted. We were asked to pick 4 Main Courses,1 Main Dessert, and 1 Free Dessert. It includes also rice and 1 round of soft drinks.

Colors of Skirting Selected

For all the colors of skirting shown in the brochure, I chose white with a combination of yellow. White and yellow attracted me the most. Besides, I bought already a yellow curtain which is a perfect match for the color of the skirting. After choosing our menu, and color for skirting, we gave the staff a downpayment of Php 6,000.00. The full payment will given during the delivery of food.

A Day of Celebration
Who were the invitees?
Of course, I invited our co-school heads, teachers, relatives, and friends. I invited them for a dinner to start at 4:00 p.m.The celebration is not complete without a lechon. We hired people to roast one pig. We raised that pig for almost 3 months and it was intended for our Fiesta celebration. Three caterers' staff were sent in advance to set up the tables and chairs and skirted the tables. They are all expert in setting the tables and chairs.

Wow! It looked so elegant! So, thankful for the catering staff who made the services.

We make sure also that just in case rain falls our living room is ready to accommodate the guests. We experienced from previous years a heavy rainfall during dinner time so we transferred to our living room.

After Delivering the Food

The Food Delivered by the Caterer

It was 2:00 p.m. when the food from the caterer arrived. So, I had the chance to take pictures of the food. Then, the roasted pig was cooked at 3:30 p.m.

Some of the guests arrived at 4:00 p.m. and others arrived at 5:00 p.m. up to 8:00 p.m.

Some of the guests enjoyed eating ice cream since I ordered 1 barrel of ice cream others enjoyed drinking beer and wine.

The last to come were my cousins, they enjoyed singing their favorite songs

The dinner ended at 8:30 p.m.The catering staff cleaned up and tore down the dining area. They removed all tableware, clothes they used for skirting tables and chairs, and garbage. All tables and chairs were put away and ready for transport. I gave tips of Php 400.00 to the catering staff as their reward for their good services. They were also given lechon as their bring home.

It was indeed a memorable and remarkable celebration. Although we spent too much on the event, we don't mind it what's important is that we were able to make others happy and it's more than enough for us. Besides, we were able to reunite with our friends and relatives during that time so we are so happy for their presence. We are so grateful to all our guests for coming, to the caterer who sent us a hardworking and hospitable staff, and most especially to our Almighty God for all the blessings He has given to us.
