Good day @asean.hive Community!!

I am @klarayle from the Philippines! and we are a Filipino Family living in the UAE. Here is my first post in this community and I hope you like it! this is our Family day Friday.

Today is our family Friday or also known as our family fun day. Yehey! Friday is usually the day off here in the UAE, but in a few weeks from now, the rest days will start to change to Saturday and Sunday because of the recent announcement from the Government. Regardless of what day it will be, one thing is for sure and that is off days are always meant to be spent with our family.

Last week, we have been very busy because of the short holiday. We went to Dubai to meet some of our family and friends, so this Friday, we decided to have some laid-back Friday.

With young kids, it is impossible to have a long sleep in the morning. So, if you’re that parent who wishes to sleep long during the rest days, maybe it will have to wait a little more year. Hehehe Our kids wake up at around 7:00-7:30 in the morning. We had a late brunch since I am not in the mood to be cooking and preparing a lot of food today. I just threw in a quick roasted garlic chicken with some French fries on the air fryer. Viola! Quick and delicious meal.

During the afternoon, we had a nice walk around downtown going to the barbershop. It was just nice to feel the sunshine radiating to our faces since most of the time we are not really going out due to the pandemic. The weather is also great for walking; it is not too hot nor cold, just the perfect breeze and warmth. Some people might not know, but during the winter it is also cold here in the middle east. It is not cold as the countries with snow, but we also have cold winter season, like for a few months.

This is my Husband's barber, He only have his haircut here since he came here in the UAE.

After my son's haircut, we stopped by a donut shop to grab some Christmas themed donuts. It was just a simple Friday today but for my son all Fridays are his "the best day ever" since we are all here at home and not working just spending time with them.

We are lucky and grateful that we are one of the few families who have our family together here abroad. Because sometimes, you are in a situation that you are far away from home and living on your own.

And that was our day, after the barbershop we went home and relaxed a bit before I prepared dinner. Time flies so fast during off days. maybe because we had a lot to do and a lot to see. How are you guys spending your days off? Do you have someone or your family with you whom you could spend days off? Or are you also someone who are busy with the household chores during their days off?

Until next time.

Hi @klarayle. Welcome to Asean Hive Community 😁

Looks like you had a good time with your family last Friday. I'm curious, that barber is not from UAE right?

Hi, @rosmadirazali! Thank you for welcoming me. The barber is not a local of UAE, he is also an expat like us. 🙂 He is also from the Philippines.
