A day in the life of A Filipino Family Living in the UAE #5: Filipino Street Foods!!

Hi hivers!

How are you all? I hope everyone is doing fine. Here I am again trying to still figure things out and be active here in the hive community.
Some things still kept us quite busy for the past month. We have been adjusting from our different rest day so we could still bond with our kids; and somehow with our efforts things seems to work out just fine. On a Friday afternoon after coming from my work, my husband and our little Caden waited for me from down our building apartment. We have planned to get some walk as the weather is still nice and the covid cases are starting to have lesser number.

As we are walking along Hamdan street. We stumble upon a store name Pinoy Street foods. The store have this food concept of selling those common street foods, which are very common from the Philippines. Actually, those street foods are very cheap in the Philippines. These are usually eaten during afternoon snack time, some may eat it as a dinner, and others munch on them while they are drinking with friends.

We got some grill chicken intestines. They cost 3 for 10 AED (135 Php/10 AED/2.57 $). We also got some fried chicken proben/proven. I am not sure on which part the proven is, but I am pretty sure they are also from the innards of the chicken. They are usually coated with flour/breading deep fried and best eaten with vinegar.

We also walk a little further to grab a milk tea or a boba drink. I have been watching this on my other social media feeds that is why I have been craving for this one for quite a while now. We only got one big one to share, so I will not feel guilty with all those sugars as I shared it with my husband.

One thing I like here in the UAE, is there is really a diverse selection of food. Everything is here. We have Asian foods easily available, Indian, Middle Eastern cuisine, European and American foods readily available. I hope you enjoyed this blog until next time.
