Hi Asean hivers! I hope you all are doing fine! I have heard that there was a typhoon in the Philippines last week and many of our fellow countrymen from the Visayas region was greatly affected by the typhoon odette. My prayers goes out to all the families that has been greatly affected. I hope reliefs will come their way since Christmas is fast approaching. Be safe all Asean hivers!
Anyways, but here in the other side of the world. "Spiderman no way home" premiered on Thursday (16 December 2021). My husband has been talking about this movie since last October! Multiple times he will tell me that we need to watch this movie in the movie theater, and so we did even before spoilers on the internet came in.
This is our family friday bonding for this week. We went out to last Friday to catch the movie with our eldest son. He was a fan of Spider Man Miles Morales, so we thought of bringing him with us so that his first cinema experience will be memorable. We are not so sure on how he will keep relaxed, calm and not bored with the 2 hours and 45 minutes movie but for his first movie I can say that he managed to behave himself so well.
The cinemas seating capacity was limited align with the UAE government's restriction. And as a requirement to all the people who are coming to the mall, they should have recent negative PCR test (within 14 days) and they should be vaccinated. All of these efforts to get rid of the spread of the virus so that finally we can all get our lives back to normal, and it is working!
My son stayed quiet for 2 hours, watching and laughing when the people are laughing too. But after 2 hrs he kept on asking me how long it will take more to finish the movie. I think he was a bit sad it was not Miles Morales. The movie was great, I will give it 8/10 rating. I don't want to go on details so I will not spoiled any Spiderman fans here.

After the movie we needed to get back home. It was such a bummer we couldn't bring Caden with us since he is still a baby and he have to stay with my brother at home, but before we went home, we passed through the mall's Christmas themed decorations, the mall was filled with such and You can really feel the Christmas spirit. You can see how UAE also respects other cultural tradition of the expatriate living here. As an Asean from the Philippines that celebrates Christmas, we really appreciate these kind of things. It makes us feel like home. Nothing like a Philippine Christmas, but these efforts from the malls makes you feel like you are back home. We will be coming back soon, or maybe to other Christmas village of course with baby Caden next time. Here are our snaps from the place.

A few of my nephews have been talking about this new Spiderman movie, I didn't realize it was already out. Wow!! A PCR test just for the movie theater, I hope you don't have to pay for the test. I have to take a PCR test to fly back to Cambodia, and I have to rent a car, drive 4 hours from my home, pay $150 for the test, then stay two nights in a hotel awaiting the results.
The inconvenience of this with the hotel, fuel and food costs is an extra $600, the world has gone crazy.
I think the movie came out earlier here in the UAE. December 15.
Everything here requires a PCR test, malls, grocery stores, liquor stores and all stores you can think of. It has been the UAE’s effort to really minimize this covid to nothingness. Haha. Anyway, it is free in my company and we have to do it every two weeks!
The Philippines also have this hotel quarantine rule, only difference is that the PH government will pay for the hotel as long as we are an Overseas Filipino Worker. We haven’t gone home but that is the update from the embassy. 600$ is 600$, that is a lot!

Its very nice that your son able to stay for 2 hours for watching movie. My younger cousin last time who 8 years old will ask me to bring her to go out for toilet while watching 1 hour and 30 minutes movie 😂. By the way, Merry Christmas to Sis and your family. 😁
hahahahahha! The struggle is real with these kids, I think he lasted because of all the popcorn that lept him busy. 😂🤣

The requirements you need just to watch a movie give an idea as to how serious the government is when it comes to eradicating this virus. I wish I could also watch the new spiderman movie, the spoilers online is too annoying.
Hi! It is really strict in here especially in Abu Dhabi,but you can atleast feel safe since you will be are aware of your health status since regular checking is done. Another good this is they also provide free PCR to everyone.
It is really sad that they haved moved the showing of spiderman in the Philippines. Anyways, I hope you had a nice Christmas! and advance happy new year.
