Such a stunning city. I can remember all they way back in 2010 when I decided to relocate to SE Asia. I arrived in Bangkok thinking I'd look for work in Thailand, but I was so overwhelmed by the skylines and fast-paced life that I couldn't handle it because I'm a farmboy from the countryside.
I headed for Cambodia at that time, and I still live here to this day, but pre-COVID I always flew in and out of Bangkok, taking the train to and from the Cambodian border. I have seen glimpses of Bangkok through the years because of this, and my American friends never believe when I say it's more modern and clean than most of our similarly sized cities.
The food is always so good too, even random hotels and guesthouses have outstanding dishes. We're awaiting an international border crossing to open with Trat, hopefully before the end of the year. We only live 30 minutes from this border, so a roadtrip to Trat may be possible soon.
